About Me

The Girl

Iā€™m Hannah, I’m a twenty-something Mummy. I love hanging out with my hubby, our foster son, our baby boy and our friends. I love food – it’s one of my weaknesses but I’m getting better with it. Two years ago I started Slimming World with the hope that I would lose weight and stop getting out of breath just from climbing the stairs. It’s now August 2015, I’m around two and a half stone lighter having put a chunk of it back on while pregnant.

I love writing and started my own business around a year ago as a Social Media Consultant and Virtual Assistant.

The Boy

That Boy

This is Chris, he’s The Boy or That Boy as my Dad used to refer to him! We got married in 2007, became foster caters in 2011 and parents in 2014. Chris has recently turned 30 but hasn’t had a meltdown about this get. Chris didn’t grow up in Bedford but he moved here for me and then for his job. He has wanderlust and loves to travel. He had a huge heart for young people and wants to see them (and me) achieve our best and reach for the stars. He wants to change the world in whatever form that comes – he’s the project manager of the YMCA Fountain cafe here in Bedford.

Our Sidekick

I think I have a dementer in my kitchen. #harrypotter
Our Sidekick is 15 and he came to live with us in October 2011. At first it was a temporary measure but now he’s been with us almost three years and is part of our random slightly disjointed “clan”. He loves parkour and crazy things like that. He shares my love of How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. He’s also proud of me because I can rap along to Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

The Baby

Jaxon - 14 Weeks
This is Jaxon. He’s Johnson Baby 1 and arrived in July 2014. You can keep up with our adventures by reading our Dear Jaxon posts.

A lovely piece of someones life….a thoroughly enjoyable read and a good lesson to anyone who thinks they know someone…well done hannah, keep up the writing, its perserverance over time that gets you recognised, its blind luck that gets you notorious….

      Hi Glenn

Thanks for taking the time to comment šŸ™‚ it’s exciting to know that people are reading rather than me just writing to the universe lol.

    Hi Hannah,
I came over from the A to Z Challenge Theme Reveal page. Your blog was listed as # 228. I was curious to see what Hannah had to say…my own Hannah is 7 turning 8 in a few days and she can say plenty when given the airtime…so I wondered if you would be the same šŸ™‚

I’m looking forward to seeing you at the Challenge. Take care!

Aw, that’s a great run-down, Hannah! It’s great to learn a little about your family, and I love the way you have the segments about each of you. šŸ™‚

That is wonderful that you and your husband are foster parents! I have several friends and acquaintances who have undertaken this awesome journey of being foster parents (and, in some cases, adopting) and I know that it can be overwhelmingly difficult but incredibly rewarding for parents and children alike.

    • Hannah says:

Hey! Sorry I had meant to reply and then didn’t! Oops! Fostering can be hard work but the results are so worth it. Our Sidekick got his GCSE results this week and we’re so proud of him and what he’s achieved.
