With balancing work bits and family bits, blogging has taken a back seat. I need to get better and more regular at it. I’m starting here and now, the very lovely Shelby from Adventurous Shelby tagged me in this post. I thought I’d use it as a springboard and get a wiggle on!
Share your profile picture.
My profile picture is from my Facebook and Twitter accounts. I also copied it over to Instagram because I realised my profile picture there is about 8 years old! The photo was taken by Cat from Cat Lane Weddings when she was at the Lemon and Ginger to take photos for the Pavilion at the Park. (I love it apart from my slightly demented hair!)
Who are you named after?
I’m not named after anyone. I think my Mum said that her and Dad were down to Emma or Hannah as choices for me and picked Hannah in the end. My dolly that they bought me was then called Emma. Jaxon has my Grandad’s name for his middle name and then his second middle is passed down the men in Chris’s family so it’s a bit of both sides.
Do you like your handwriting?
Yes and no. I seem to have a love-hate relationship with my hand writing. Some days it’s fine and really nice to read and other days it’s so much of a scrawl that I doubt anyone can read it! I liked to experiment with my handwriting and it would frequently get me told off at school. I vaguely remember being kept in one break time to redo my work because my handwriting kept changing through out the piece of work.
What is your favorite lunch meat?
I normally have sliced chicken or sliced ham, often with ketchup or mayo – all depends on the syns to spare!
Well the longest friendship is Catherine and I. We’ve been friends since she came home from the hospital after being born. Catherine put these photos together and shared them on FB for my 30th Birthday. Looking at me when I was about 3/4 I can totally see Jaxon in me which is really funny.
Next after Catherine there is another Catherine but as far as boys go, it’s Chris – we’ve been married for almost 10 years and were together about 2 years prior to that. We’d known each other since I was 14/15 so we’ve known each other 16 years now! Wow!
Do you still have your tonsils?
Yes – I’ve fortunately only had (diagnosed) tonsilitis once – so they’ve stayed put. Hopefully I won’t ever need to have them out.
Would you ever bungee jump?
Part of me says yes but the majority says NO! Then again we did watch that episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air this week so that’s not helping haha!
Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Nope, I am so bad! I just kick them off. If I leave them in the wrong place, Jaxon tells me off because if he does the same thing, I tell him off lol. Also when we’re going out if I don’t get my shoes quick enough he’ll go and get them from the porch and put them in front of me. Once he figures out how to undo the laces he’ll probably be doing that for me too!
Sometimes I go for standard flavours that are really boring or other times I experiment. On holiday in 2012, we were in Bristol but decided to take a field trip into Wales. We went to Bridgend and visited Ella Riley’s sweet shop and then headed round the coast to Barry Island. We decided to stop and get ice creams – Chris asked me what flavour I wanted and I was like “I don’t mind, you pick”. Well I think Our Sidekick and he tried to pick the crazy option available. Not only did it melt all over my hand, but ended up all round my face. Also it had an interesting after effect that I didn’t realise until the next day.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Football or baseball?
Shelby tagged me so it’s clearly American Football or Baseball – erm that’s a toughie. I would like to go see a Baseball game one day. I’ve watched the Superbowl in the past but I don’t understand what some of it means whereas I think I have the hang of Baseball. If the question is Rugby or Football/Soccer? Then Rugby hands down!
What colour pants are you wearing?
This is another one where I have to follow the Americanisms. Pants here are under wear not trousers. So my trousers are my very very overworn jeans. I’d been looking at new jeans on the internet over the last couple of days but in order to consider the pair that I did like I was going to need to measure my inside leg. Chris complained to me about the state of my jeans this morning so I ended up going to Primark to try on new jeans while we were out – they have a “Mom” cut pair at the moment and all they did was squish everything in and upwards so I ended up with a mahoosive muffin top lol. In the end I risked the “Relaxed Skinny” and given they were cheaper bought two different colours of the same part. Unfortunately when I did change into them I discovered that I had the opposite issue and they were a big baggy around the waistband. I grabbed my belt off my old jeans and that helped to minimise the bagginess. Hopefully they will work for now anyway! Why is it so hard to buy jeans??
If you were a crayon what color would you be?
Bright but not lime green or black and sparkly.
Freshly baked bread or cakes. I used to love the smell of coffee as it reminds me of Grandma and Grandad’s house but now the smell makes me a bit sad because I miss Grandma.
Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
Chris, he was asking me to get some other bits while I was at the Supermarket (After I’d got home from going to a different supermarket with Mum – he had tried ringing me but my phone was on silent – oops!)
Dark brown with silver/grey “highlights” – Yes I’m in my early 30s and already going grey. I would love mermaid hair but I genuinely don’t think I have the gumption (is that the right word??) for it, also the cost of mermaid hair puts me off lol. (I have a whole board of ideas on Pinterest – I’m a bit addicted haha!)
Favorite food to eat?
Usually bad food…pizza, pasta, meatballs, burgers. Yep generally not particularly healthy…
Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings. I don’t do scary films – I like edge of the seat thriller type of things but I don’t do scary. I’ve watched a couple of scary films but most of the time they are more suspenseful rather than full on scary.
Last movie you watched?
Yesterday I was watching Beauty and The Beast, I decided it was the thing to watch after booking our tickets to go see the live action version in a couple of weeks.
Erm, I love Christmas because everything seems to stop and we spend time together propelry as a family rather than squeezing in a family celebration between other commitments.
Beer or wine?
I’m not really a fan of either to be honest. I’m pretty much tee-total so don’t really drink, if I do drink when I’m out then it tends to be JD and diet cola or Southern Comfort and Lemonade. I do like Magners or Bulmers Fruit Ciders specifically the berry flavours although they are a bit like alcoholic squash so I have to be sensible as they are a bit yummy!
Night owl or early bird?
I love to sleep but am definitely a night owl which isn’t so good as I’m pretty sure that Jaxon takes after Chris and is an early bird. Occasionally he has a moment where he might sleep in a bit more than usual but nearly always still early in my book!
Favorite day of the week?
Wednesdays, no one likes the middle of the week but I love to see how far I’ve come in the week and re-evaluate what needs to happen before it ends. (weird I know)
