NaBloPoMo: November 12
NaBloPoMo

This Weekend I… got to go to the fireworks display over at Kimbolton School. Originally my friend from work was coming with the boys and I but unfortunately she was poorly so couldn’t come (boo!!) I did get a bit camera happy though and took lots of pictures! Some are better than others but given that they were all taken on my phone I’m really impressed with the quality (Okay maybe not necessarily but I really like them!). The last one didn’t focus so well but it looks like that bokeh style of photography – what do you think? (Click any of the pictures and that will take you to my Flickr Photostream).

As my friend couldn’t come we decided we’d throw open the spare seats in our car to anyone who wanted to come, there were certain requirements but we were able to sort out some of them to get my friend and her son to come with us. Clearly it was a good night as our friend’s son fell asleep in the car on the way back even though we were chatting really loud!

This Weekend I… once again started off really lazy. Somehow I managed to sleep until 10:30! I got myself up and try to organise Our Sidekick so he was ready for contact – what didn’t help was that the driver arrived 10 minutes early – Our Sidekick is a bit stubborn and if the driver arrives early (apart from in bad weather) then he makes the driver wait – I’m sure it’s not a good thing to necessarily do but it’s not like I can pick Our Sidekick up under my arm and carry him out to the car!

This Weekend I… following contact we went to the second attempt at our friend’s daughter’s birthday party. Veronica and Marc plus some extra assistants were able to get the party ready again after last weekend when it had to be cancelled at last minute. I love all the decorations that Veronica made – it was so fabulous! Their little girl was super cute in her little pink tutu (might have to get me one of those if I have a little girl one day!!). I was handed one of Veronica’s cameras at one point to snap some family pictures of Veronica and Marc with their kids, it was really complicated at there were so many buttons on the camera – thankfully Marc came to my rescue and set it up for me, I was then able to snap away! (Can Veronica do my birthday party…..?)

This Weekend I… following going to the party we headed to my Mum’s for a little while. My Mum and I sat at the dining room table and created a paper draft of the banner she’s going to make for her church. We then went to the supermarket to get some ingredients as it was Christmas Saturday, my mum was on a mission to make her Christmas Puddings and measure out all the ingredients for the Christmas cakes – we even got gluten free flour for our Christmas cake to make sure I’m not the only one eating it this year!

This Weekend I… took up residence on the sofa and watched Strictly Come Dancing, I do really like Dave but it really was time for him to go. We’d been debating over on FB whether we should create a protest of sorts and not watch it anymore if Dave didn’t go.

This Weekend I… made it to church. Chris was playing taxi service so we got a lift with our friend. This meant that we were in fact on time for the church service (which doesn’t seem to happen at the moment!).

This Weekend I… had been under the weather anyway but by the middle of the church service, it was really bad. I texted Chris across the church building and then I snuck out and jumped in the car and popped up to the Medical Centre. I had to wait for like an hour for an appointment so I sat and crocheted in the waiting room. At one point I had an audience watching me which was quite comical! When I did see the doctor, he agreed with me when it came to a diagnosis and I was sent away with antibiotics.

This Weekend We… had guests round for dinner after church. This was a good plan until I realised that I’d taken my antibiotics but hadn’t had enough food with them so was essentially taking them on an empty stomach! People don’t do this. It’s not pretty! I thought I was going to throw up and my head started to pound! *sad face* I did go to bed and Our Sidekick and Chris held the fort.

This Weekend I… watched more TV! Once I came too and started to feel more human I sat in bed and watched a bunch of TV.
