Day 13: A Song That Is A Guilty Pleasure
And I Am Tellin’ You by Jennifer Hudson (from the film DreamGirls)
So I have the Glee version on CD in my car – I can’t say that I’d ever belt it out in public but I regularly play it in the car and belt it as loud as I can while driving – I can hit the money notes which is interesting lol.. I also belt out this one as well. (Defying Gravity from Wicked)

No need to feel guilty (except for the Glee version – I really really really don’t want to go there) this is a classic. Jennifer Hudson came to my attention via this, she’s terrific. The film on the other hand is 2 hours on a Christmas Day I will never get back. (Eddie Murphy great in it though)
As I said through our Twitter conversation earlier today – if it hadn’t been for the Glee version I wouldn’t have heard the Jennifer Hudson version. Then again my housemate has the DVD of Dreamgirls – or she borrowed it from somewhere. Again I agree it was a bit of a wasted effort.
