NaBloPoMo: November 1

If you found one million dollars pounds in the morning and had to spend it by nightfall, what would you do with the money?

Now that would be really tough – if I found it tomorrow morning, I have work all day and even then I don’t think I could possibly spend one million pounds in one day! I’d spend a bit on filling up the petrol tank in the car and Our Sidekick and I could go shopping in MK after work. Okay so I’d rather than give some of it away or invest in important things rather than spend on things that are worthless. I’d probably give a donation to The Fountain because I know it is needed. I think I’d pay off our mortgage – we would probably have to pay some kind of early termination cost but it would probably be a tiny percentage of the million pounds! I would help my brother get on the housing ladder if he wanted to. I’d also put money into some form of trust fund so that Our Sidekick could go to university if he wanted to. As a child under Social Services I think he gets some kind of support but at the same time I’d try and help him out rather than him have to worry about where the money is coming from. If he wants the education then I’d help him. (Does that count as spending it if I’m investing it in his future?)

Having said that about spending it on “worthless things”, I would replace my MacBook – it’s over 5 years old and it’s not running so well any more.
