Day two actually started with me nearly missing my bus! I guess the bus timetables are written in such a way to give a cushion maybe if it’s busier but at 5:30 am on an otherwise dry morning, it gave too much leeway because my bus was running about 3 minutes early. I held on to my bag and ran across the square near the bus stop and really hoped the driver was not going to go without me!
Thankfully, the bus didn’t go without me. I made it, got comfy and worked on my sock. Well, I don’t know what happened next, but I missed my stop. The bus was quieter than usual and I think there were so few people that it didn’t stop on its way to my stop. Well, I got off one stop later and power-walked back. (Google says 4 minutes to walk between the bus stops but when I looked it up, Google Maps tried to take me the long way around the station and down to the wrong platform and said it would take like 8 minutes and I had about 6 until my train so cue a panic and a bit of a run at least for some of the route back…). I got back to the station and had 5 minutes left until my train – either I couldn’t do the maths today or the bus was early and the train was late. Thankfully, minus a power cut my day at work went smoothly and I finished almost on time.
I found a bench to sit on and watch the world go by for a little while before I collected R from a special event he was at. The local school held a Børnehavernes Dag” (Kindergarteners Day), which was a couple of hours to give them a taste of what a school day might be like. I think with him starting school next year there are lots of taster days or practice runs to get him ready which is all kind of exciting. I sat in the park near the school to pass some more time and got some more knitting done. I am around 40 rows into the foot so almost there and hopefully will be able to start the toe on Sock 1 today or tomorrow.
I wrote the post for yesterday and tried to track down the brand/range and colourway of my sock yarn but it was proving a challenge. I’m sure it’s Opal, Regia or Lang but can’t for the life of me remember which one. I think I will pop by the yarn shop I think I bought it from then I can have a look and see if they still have it in stock.
