NaBloPoMo: Movies: Fantastic Mr Fox

So normally all my posts begin “The One With” a bit like Friends episode titles. But I’ve decided when it’s specifically music or film based then I’m going to change the title form.

Anyway so on Friday I went to see Fantastic Mr Fox with Zoza. It was good fun and I REALLY enjoyed it.

I read Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl multiple times whn I was younger as he was one of my favourite writers – although I think Matilda might have been my definite favourite as I loved reading almost as much as Matilda did – thankfully I didn’t become psychic like she did lol.

IMDB has the summary as this:

It is the story of one Mr. Fox and his wild-ways of hen heckling, turkey taking and cider sipping, nocturnal, instinctive adventures. He has to put his wild days behind him and do what fathers do best: be responsible. He is too rebellious. He is too wild. He is going to try “just one more raid” on the three nastiest, meanest farmers that are Boggis, Bunce and Bean. It is a tale of crossing the line of family responsibilities and midnight adventure and the friendships and awakenings of this country life that is inhabited by Fantastic Mr. Fox and his friends.

It was one of those films where I kinda knew was coming but then all at the same I didn’t know what was coming as it’s been so long since I read the book. I loved the characer of Ash – he was like Emo Fox.

Me and Zoza laughed quite heartily at some bits and there’s one bit that made me hold my breathe because I was worried about what was happening lol.

My favourite bit of all was at the end there was a little dance number just before the titles and me and Zoza were sat in our seats dancing, I was all prepared to sit there dancing and then look at Zoza and her be ignoring me or pretending that she didn’t know me but when I looked at her she was dancing too! Now thats a friend lol.
