This post was originally started using the Currently prompt from RUKristin. Have a good week!
Watching
After hanging out at Mum’s last weekend I realised that I was behind on Bones, so while Dad took Jaxon for a walk around the block, Mum and I caught up on Bones and I watched the episodes I’d missed this week. I’ve gone off House of Cards at the moment but I’m sure I’ll go to back and try and keep up again – I guess I need to get a move on though because I think Season Four just started on Netflix. I’ve been binge watching Continuum – my Mum said she didn’t enjoy it so much because of the flipping backwards and forwards between 2076(?) and the present day and then the various alternate realities that sort of kick in along the way. I worked my way through a bunch of films this weekend too. I finished In Her Shoes, 50 First Dates and Blended. Then during unplanned “Household Time” on Friday we ended up watching Spooks: The Greater Good. (“Household Time” is normally Sunday evening but because of all the crazy this weekend it accidentally moved to Friday.
Reading
Since the beginning of 2016, I had been trying to clear my Currently Reading list on Goodreads rather than starting new books but so far it’s not really been happening. I decided again to start a new book rather than continue with one I’d already started so I’m now reading Saving Bletchley Park by Dr Sue Black with Stevyn Colgan. I then discovered this piece by Tabitha Mary – if and when I have my own office/study other I think I might have to have the print of it on my wall. For now it’s been put on my computer desktop while I work.
Listening
I’ve been listening to For King and Country and Rend Collective a lot recently, I decided that I was going to try and listen to Worship Music or Contemporary Christian Music. My current favourites are My Lighthouse by Rend Collective and Shoulders or The Proof of Your Love by For King and Country. I texted my brother about the video for Shoulders because the guy who’s an angel or something like that reminded me of the guy from Assassin’s Creed of all things!
Making
On Thursday, Jaxon and I went to our first Cornerstone meeting at Woodside and got to meet a bunch of new people. With it being Easter this weekend coming we were making Easter Bonnets, Jaxon refused to wear the one I made so I might have to wear it in the Bonnet Parade this week. I’ve caught up with my temperature blanket which is exciting, I spent a large chunk of the weekend getting up to date and it was beginning to stress me out a little bit. I had crocheted it all together the other week and found that my squares were bunching up because it was too tight. I ended up taking the whole lot apart and starting again – it was a bit depressing but at least it wasn’t September and I was having to take it all apart otherwise I think I would have been crying my way through it! I’ve started a couple of other projects that I need to get on with. I have scribbled patterns of sorts in my Bullet Journal so I can keep track of where I am and what I’m trying to do. Hopefully, the finished products will come out lovely.
Feeling
Excited but also a bit of a muddle. I applied for two Creative Teams, I heard back from Kristin at ALP last week and then the Creative Team list for the second one went live today. I knew I hadn’t been chosen for the second one as there are better people out there for the job but I’m sort of disappointed that I wasn’t picked. There is other stuff going on though around here that is very exciting so it all sort of balances out in the end. Jaxon and I are going along to Cornerstone at Woodside which is cool – I’m doing a couple of weeks before deciding whether I join the team or not. Chris had a meeting earlier this evening and the guys he was meeting with left around 10:30pm and we’re all a bit excited about what’s been discussed (which is why I’m writing this at almost midnight!)
Planning
Firstly, I’m collecting RSVPs for my birthday. It’s been near enough a yes/no split equally down the middle so far which is interesting. Then I am starting to think about decoration and things like that. I borrow some bunting from Chris’s cousin who had amazing bunting at her wedding – so we’re reusing it which is very lovely of her to lend it to me. It’s been in Mum’s spare bedroom since Christmas as it was easier for her to get it back to her Mum who then gave it to Chris’s Mum who gave it to Chris’s Dad who delivered it to me. I am really excited for my birthday especially as one of the first celebrations of birthday-ness kicks off in the next week or so (ooh I need to buy a birthday present! Better not forget that!)
How’s your week been? What have you been up to?
