If you follow me on Instagram (or other social networks as I tend to take a picture and then spam everyone!) you may have seen pictures pinging up of the Baby Blanket that has been taking over my life since about Christmas.
It actually started earlier in December but I was full of cold and other bugs and so crocheting anything for anyone other than myself was a bit beyond me. (Also I was cram reading to attempt to finish my target number of books in 2012 (at present I am miles behind 2013s goal…..oops!)
Well now that the blanket has been delivered (in theory!) I have decided to post pictures of the finished product. Thanks go to my Dad for being my glamorous assistant and standing in the garden while I snapped pictures (and criticised my work……)
This was my first official commissioned piece for someone outside of my family. It’s all hand crocheted into giant granny squares and then sewn together with a crocheted border added round the outside. It’s approximately a metre and a half across as requested. My friend asked for coffee and cream – this was a challenge given the choice of wool I had to choose from but I think it does still fit the criteria.
