Over on Facebook I’m part of a blogging group. On the Wednesdays of each month we have a group prompt that we’re all going to answer. This weeks’ prompt is…
Signs I am Getting Old
- Quite a few kids that I used to babysit are graduating university this year!
- The kids who were in my team at Gatecrashers who are now old enough to interview for part time or full time jobs in be building I worked in.
- And those kids queue behind you in the pub to buy alcohol.
- When you no longer know who is at Number 1 in the Top 40 unless you look it up on Google or tune in especially at quarter to seven on a Sunday evening to find out.
- You’d rather order in dinner and binge watch TV on Netflix rather than go out clubbing or drinking.
- You have more Grey’s than some of the people double your age (either that or the boys are giving them to me!)
haha It is so weird when kids you use to babysit graduate from college! Make me feel so old!
My cousin graduates this summer. I remember holding her the day (or the day after) she was born. That makes me feel really old!!
Oh man! I super understand!! People that I taught are getting married/married with children, and I am just super old!! But all us old folk can be old together!!! Great post!!
When I started Upper School (our equivalent of High School), it turned out that one of the German teachers taught my Mum. By the time I was in Sixth Form, my form tutor had taught my Uncle when he was in the Sixth Form (I think we worked it out at about 25 years he’d been teaching!). I managed to make my Year 5 Head of Year feel very old when Our Sidekick moved in with us. I went to his first Parent’s Evening and she was on the welcome desk. It took a bit of explaining that I was his foster carer and not actually his Mum. In order for me to have been his Mum I would have been pregnant while in Year 8 and it would have been a scandal lol.
Not sure the kids I babysat have graduated college but they defiantly graduated high school!
