NaBloPoMo: Day Four

Day 04 – Your Favourite Book

Today is my favourite book, but to be honest I don’t have one. Well actually I guess the Bible is pretty high up there because it’s got all sorts of different stories and advice within it’s pages. So my favourite bible story is Joseph – the fact that even through all the rubbish that happens to him he’s still strong and follows God.

Second favourite or equal favourite is the story of Esther – she wasn’t anyone special in the sense that she wasn’t a princess or a high politician – not that you had lady politicians then but she did do something amazing.

Esther becomes Queen and must tell King Xerxes (or Ahaseurus depending on which version you’re reading) that his prime minister is plotting to kill the Jews (Boo!!! Hiss!!!). Esther to the rescue though, she stands up to the king and with some help from her ladies in waiting (of sorts) she with help from God gets it sorted. (Aah! One day I will explain about Purim! Maybe in February when it actually happens!)

There is a Veggie Tales version from what I’ve heard where rather than Haman (the Prime Minister) trying to kill the Jews he’s trying to banish them to the Island of Perpetual Tickling which I think is an awesome twist on the story.

Well, this is great. I like to read the use of the word “rubbish” I like all English/British descriptives that aren’t typical in America. And I heart Bible stories re-told Veggie Tales style. It doesn’t get any better. Josh and the Big Wall… SLUSHY’S!!! Heck yes.

BTW. Send me your mailing address. I would like to treat you to some Peanut Butter m&m’s.

It’s always funny when I speak to my colleagues in the US and make some comment and then have to decode it for them lol.

I only recently got into Veggie Tales actually lol. I’ve only seen a couple but might have to watch more 🙂

I’ve emailed you my post address – can’t wait to try the Peanut Butter M&Ms 😀 Thank you
