    I can’t even *imagine* trying NaNoWriMo! NaBloPoMo is enough abuse as it is. This is an interesting article about getting started with a novel:

    When a friend and I tried to write a play we wrote a very loose outline, assembled a character list and invited some actor-types over to improvise with each other as the characters. We got a lot of good dialog that way.

    I also read everything I write out loud (or have it read to me).. for some reason, that clears the cobwebs and I have a much clearer idea of the direction the writing needs to go.
