Currently…8th June

Currently...

Each Monday I start with a sum up of what’s currently happening around these parts – especially when some weeks seem to fly by quicker than others!

Watching:
The new series of Pretty Little Liars started this week and although it took me three or four attempts I managed to watch the whole episode. Also been watching Forever – Season 1 has just ended so that’s another show that I’ve watched recently and it’s been cancelled (the other one was Taxi Brooklyn) and also started Switched at Birth from the very beginning as I found it on NowTV.

Reading:
I’ve been reading More TV Vicar by Bryony Taylor, I’m up to the “bad” TV Vicars currently about Father Ted but in the previous section about The Baby-Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells mentions an Eddie Izzard joke which I found really amusing but I didn’t explain the context very well to Chris so I’m not sure he got it. (Here it is on YouTube – excuse the bad language!). I love the idea of a bible study with Eddie Izzard. (from here originally, read and quoted from Bryony’s book)

‘If nothing else, Eddie Izzard actually engages with Scripture. That’s got to be an improvement on leaving it shut away in splendid isolation. He gets that there’s plenty of interesting stuff in the Bible, whether or not you’re a Christian. And his playful approach means that he’s often exploring more dimensions of Scripture than you’d get in a rushed ‘I know the right answer before I even start’ reading.’

I’ve also been reading a bunch of blog posts, June is Chiari and Syringomyelia Awareness Month so Hannah at Little Golden Daffodil has been sharing about when she was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and how it’s affected her (so far she’s blogged 3 posts and they can be found here, 1: Chiari and Syringomyelia Aware Month (And an elephant?)!, 2: Chiari Blog: What’s Wrong with Me?3: What is Chiari Malformation?), Also read this challenge that Elizabeth and Raj from Awesome Wave are going to attempt to complete. So far I’ve visited a massive chunk of the counties. I’m currently counting up and might have to blog about it… and fill in the gaps of course.

Wondering:
If my brain will turn to mush and drain out of my ear soon – it’s just been a bit crazy in the last few days and I’ll be glad to catch up with myself and get into some kind of mental order again lol.

Making:
I received a ball of wool, a crochet hook and a crochet pattern from Little Lamb Wool (Review to follow), so I got the squares finished for the project with my Mum and then cracked open the new ball of wool. I’ve been following the pattern but I’ve found that it was curling up so I’ve had to go off pattern and add a few extra chain stitches in. So far it looks okay and hopefully it’ll keep going that way. I need to price up the rest of the pattern though and see where I can get the wool for the best price.

Eating:
I’m being better, if I do have a bad meal I’m trying to do extra walking to counteract it – I’m not sure it always works but some days I’m walking around 5-7 miles so that’s got to be doing something for me. (And clearly it might be working – I very almost got in a size 10 dress today……I did try on a 12 and that did fit but it was a really floaty one so that was probably assisting!)

Working On:
Currently fairly near the top of my list is getting Jaxon’s 1st Birthday Party and Chris’s 30th Birthday Party organised – especially as we’re going to be going on holiday around the same time.
