I officially eat too much rubbish in between meals – just a chocolate bar here and a bag of sweets there.
So I have decided to use my will power – I am going to stop eating junk between meals like chocolate and crisps – if I get hungry I eat fruit or veggie sticks (like celery or carrot)
I am determined to look good!
This is the Summer of me!
(What?!?!? I decide I am going to be healthy and the Sales guy appears with Chocolate doughnuts!!!! NO FAIR!!!)
EDIT: OK so naughty me gave into the doughtnuts but I have kept track of my calories today. I have also added my own little twist. I’m not going to drop out completely but I am going to run my idea. Recently I’ve been quite negative whereas in the past I’ve looked for the silver lining now I just look at the black clouds. So the way I am going to make this The Summer Of Me is to prodominately be more positive (and the healthy eating will also come into it)
I found this at The Happy Cactus

So here’s my picture for todays HSMS.
This is what I have of a fringe – The hair grips were in my hair holding it out of my face!
It’s verging on Cousin It! lol
Look forward to seeing the other pictures!
I found this earlier at Unplugyourkids.com, apparently it is possible to opt-out of receiving a Yellow Pages. I don’t know if this is possible in the UK but I do know that we barely use our yellow pages – Most of the time if we need a phone number we look in the church directory or go to directory enquiries on line as it’s free (well just costs a tiny bit of internet connection.)
You can find the post here
As part of 101 Things in 1001 Days I decided that I would watch more foreign language films.
So here is the first. I found it while I was in town yesterday.
IMDB write the synopsis as:
Life isn’t easy for a group of high school kids growing up absurd in Japan’s pervasive pop/cyber culture. As they negotiate teen badlands- school bullies, parents from another planet, lurid snapshots of sex and death- these everyday rebels without a cause seek sanctuary, even salvation, through pop star savior Lily Chou-Chou, embracing her sad, dreamy songs and sharing their fears and secrets in Lilyholic chat rooms. Immersed in the speed of everyday troubles, their lives inevitably climax in a fatal collision between real and virtual identities, a final logging-off from innocence.
Looks good so far its all in Japanese with subtitles.
Update: I’ve got about an hour into it then realised I still had like an hour to go!!!!! It seems to take a long time to get anywhere and sometimes the camera work is a bit shaking as you’re supposed to believe it’s by a hand camera. In the end I gave up with it! Too random for my cup of tea that’s for sure!
I am a right lazy butt if I can drive somewhere I usually do but I was good today I decided I was going to town and that I’d walk and I did it in 15 minutes and listening to four songs on my iPod.
I think I saw LilyChouChou. I didn’t mean to ignore her but it didnt click who it was till I’d walked past and my brain had kicked in.
I’m on the bus now to my Mum’s house I have to keep looking up so I dont miss the stop. (knowing my luck I’ll end up at tesco or back in town because of missing the stop!
The bus driver nearly threw me through the window. I got up to give off the bus and he started to pull off again then realised and slammed on the brakes. No wonder I have a thing about not using public transport unless I really need to.
Yes I am that slightly butty girl at the back of the bus dancing along to ‘N Sync!
So I can’t thing of a more imaginative title at the moment. Chris has been busy writing essays and stressing about college and now he’s not very well (he’s got a throat infection). Well I’ve either come out in sympathy or he’s given it to me because I’ve felt rubbish all day – my glands are up, my nose is runny but like weepy runny rather than proper snotty runny and I keep sneezing (like 10 times since lunch time).
I delivered my You’ve Got Mail swap today. LilyChouChou was the receiver and she lives about five minutes from my house so I decided that I would deliver it rather than mail her bits and pieces.
She invited me in for a few minutes but I couldn’t stay as Chris had locked himself out so I had to go and let him in.
Now he’s playing Mario on the Wii while I consider shutting myself back in the “study” as Mario music
is boring and very repeatative. At least Tetris is based on a piece of classic music.
I’m kinds annoyed because I came home to save Chris I was unable to go to the supermarket and get some squash (like cordial). (This is a national emergency because its like a staple of my diet) I’ve also
run at out at work which gave me the excuse to drink diet coke all day lol.
I am upto date minus 1 images for my 101 things in 1001 days. I’m in. The process of reading 1984 by George Orwell and Sepulchre by Kate Mosse

This is the lovely funky lamp my Mum has in her dining room. I closed the curtain on the lamp side so that the light didn’t escape through the window.
This kinda hard! I started my taking a picture of the number bit on my keyboard and decided that if I didn’t come up with anything better I would stick with that.
This was my second idea so what do you think?
Film Meme courtesy of Soph (I found her blog via Little.red.boat and Brennig)
1. One movie that made you laugh: Austin Powers – it just is funny because of how much of the mick it takes out of James Bond.
2. One movie that made you cry: My Girl – at the end it’s so sad!!!
3. One movie you loved when you were a child: Beauty and The Beast
4. One movie you’ve seen more than once: There are a few I have seen more than once – more than five times would be Chicken Run probably or 10 Things I Hate About You.
5. One movie you loved, but were embarrassed to admit it: Finding Nemo (I went with two friends when we were in the 6th Form the rest of the cinema was full of Parents and children.
6. One movie you hated: I Know What You Did. I just dont get horror films they aren’t scary any more and if anything they are funny because of how stupid they are!
7. One movie that scared you: I Know What You Did – well at least the first time round it scared me lol. I jumped a mile!
8. One movie that bored you: Any war film that my Dad likes! I am going to try and sit through Bridge Over River Kwai as part of my 101 Things in 1001 days.
9. One movie that made you happy: There are a few but I love Love Actually especially when Colin Firth tells Aurelia that he loves her in his messed up portugese lol.
10. One movie that made you miserable: The Break-Up – Could they not have got back together in the end?!?! I know they were doing their thing but together would have been cool?!?
11. One movie you weren’t brave enough to see: Hostel – I was at uni and we were looking at Tarantino’s films I can do Pulp, Reservoir Dogs, and both Kill Bill’s but I can’t hack Hostel. (yeah I know it wasn’t a Tarantino film as he produced and Eli Roth directed)
12. One movie character you’ve fallen in love with: I have no idea – i do like Jack Black’s character in the Holiday – He’s sweet but still wacky.
13. The last movie you saw: Tomb Raider – watched it on DVD on Saturday. (I think) At the cinema it was Indiana Jones.
14. The next movie you hope to see: Hancock, Wanted, SATC we could be here all day!
Ok today I am kinda cheating – I will post my own picture but I need to get my OH to yawn and let me take a photo of him! lol 🙂
So for now here is a lovely very cute picture from Flickr. (This is from this photostream)
Her Space:
Probably not very original but here is my image for HerSpace-MySpace today. I got to work this morning and the manager of our office (the director man) made the cups of tea – or in my case Hot Squash.
Here’s her Space:
So I am attempting to upload my picture for todays Her Space My Space.
You should be able to see it here.
For now here is Her Space:
Today we went to church as normal. Pastor Mow Mow preached which was cool.
Afterwards me, Chris, Mr W, Mrs W, Abster and Essie went to the Gurdwara for lunch. It was really cool. Chris had told us how that they serve lunch not just for the “congregation” but for the community as well. So we went there for lunch – they were sooooo welcoming it was really cool (Did I already say that it was cool?!?!)
I took this picture on our way back the Mr and Mrs W’s house. There was some story I was told about that originally the domes on the roof were going to be painted/plated in like gold coloured paint/metal but the council refused the planning permission or something like that. I think it’s a beautiful building.
The building is an area of Bedford called Queen’s Park, there are a lot of people who go on about how rough it is and all this sort of thing. Now admittedly I don’t live there but Mr and Mrs W are raising their kids there and they think it’s a great place to bring the girlies up in such a multicultural area.
I was bored and decided to be creative. I chose Hannie-Pants as it’s my nickname and went off to find pictures that showed the letters. Also I’m kinda trialling header ideas. I’ve decided that I am going to pay out the money for my own URL hopefully Hanniepants.com (I’m going to be a DOT COM!) and so I am working on designs. Well mine are hand draw and then Chris will do the funky magic and make it look pretty.
I’ve decided to go back to a paper diary. I’m not really sure why I kinda feel lost without it. I have the diary on my phone but I like the feeling almost of writing it down rather than typing it in. Is that random or does that make sense?

Okies so the first time round I got it wrong! So here is my picture for Self Portrait Saturday.
I was brought up on Star Trek – it was like a tradition me and Dad would park in front of the TV on a Wednesday evening and we would watch it.
As I got older and was allowed to stay up later – I found The X Files – I was a bit late to catch on with this as BBC2 stopped showing it kinda once I got into it. My Mum wasn’t keen on me watching it as she thoought it would give me nightmares – on the other hand my Dad was ok with it.
By the time I got to Upper School The X Files was old hat and no one was particularly bothered about it – horror films had got scarier and Sci-Fi was dreaming bigger.
My English teacher let us watch it one lesson – I can’t remember why now but I guess it was to do with Media. I didn’t get to see all of it because I had to go to a music lesson – I went home and searched through the video cupboard and found it. I sat and watched it and would have watched it again but I didn’t have the patience to sit still!

Today’s Word for Her Space My Space: Reach
Ok So really it’s more of a poke – but he is reaching towards the camera! Enjoy!
So that I can start taking more photo’s I’ve “signed” up to the RSS feed on HerSpace-MySpace. Each day a random word is given and you take a photo of that word. So today is Drip and here is my picture.
Her Space:
My Space:
I chose to take a picture of our kitchen tap because I am useless. You have to kinda over turn our tap to turn it off otherwise it drips. I haven’t quite got the hang of it at the moment but I am sure I will eventually.
Since the most recent swap I hosted on Swap-Bot I’ve been reading lots more blogs. Also partly because one of my 101 Things in 1001 Days is to write 5 comments on blogs each day – I try to make sure that these are different blogs.
I found Miss Geeky’s blog through Twitter. Her post yesterday was about some of the links that she found and looked at. The first link was to 70 Amazing Business Cards, this is where I found the above image.
I don’t work in a job where it’s relevant for me to have a business card (at the moment! lol) but I liked these design. Unfortunately, I would most definitely have to have a business card that fitted with my company’s style and I the above wouldn’t fit but if I ever went for self-emplo yed I might seriously look at the above or the one below (across possibly!).
On my recent post 10 Years Ago I mentioned Dolly Mixture, I had a comment from Shannon who blogs at Mad Squrrel HQ asking what Dolly Mixture were. So ta-da these are dolly mixture!!!! My favourites are the pink cubes or the gum drops with sugar all over them.
I am sure I should be more productive at work but Friday Afternoon Syndrome seems to have creeped up into Thursday. This afternoon I spoke to a distributor who sold onto another office supplies company – this is the second time and the fourth time he’s called me babe! HELLO! That’s not my name! I can handle sweetie or sweetheart because that’s what my Mum and my Grandad call me.
I found this the other day but I am now getting round to it having found it again on PaperKitty’s blog here.
1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
June 1998, I would have been 12 and in Year 7. I was best Friends with Cat having trouble through Year 6 (long story and not neccersary to cover)
2. What 5 things are on my to do list for today?
Do work.
Call Customers.
Print Labels
Write a letter to My Swap-Bot Partner
Go to Members Meeting at Church
3. Snacks I enjoy:
Grapes, Crisps, Marshmallows, Dolly Mixture and Jelly Babies.
4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
I’d try and be sensible with the money. I’d make sure that my grandparents and parents lived comfortable (if not a little more than comfortable). I’d buy my brother a flat (or maybe a house if i was feeling generous lol) I may even consider getting him a car (hybrid of course) so that my parents didn’t have to run him around any more. I’d buy myself a Smart car and a house for me and Chris to live in rather than renting our flat. The rest would go in a bank account to accumlate interest. I’d probably carry on working to fill my time and to socialise with people.
5. Places I have lived:
I’ve lived in Bedford my whole live just at 3 different houses!
6. Jobs I’ve had:
Tesco Till Girl, Waitress, PA, Customer Service Assistant, Administrator, Customer Service Rep.
7. Peeps I want to know more about:

I will provide answers and links later now I have to go get ready for band practice (as I am writing this bit its Thursday and I have tons to do yay!)
I can’t write a proper blog while at work so it’s more like random thoughts.
Why do I have Five Minutes by Madonna and Justin Timberlake in my head – I really don’t like the song.
The canteen is always quiet but I go in a hi-speed dash to grab a bag of crisps and a sausage roll and the world and his wife are in there grrr!
So today is Wednesday and Yesterday I met my Goddaughter to be for the first time. She’s gorgeous and has beautiful eyes. It was good to catch up with Kitten B – I’ve missed her so much – I haven’t seen her since before university and I knew I missed her but not properly until yesterday.
This song is quoted in the front of IzzyB’s baby book. Here are the Lyrics:
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you’ll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they’re worth taking
Lovin’ might be a mistake
But it’s worth making
Don’t let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)
So I’ve been packing today during my lunch break. The house looks like a bomb site and in a way I want to pay someone to sort it for me because it’s so annoying. With Chris at college today and tomorrow and then 3 days till we might move, I’m packing by the handful. Mum came and help me start on the kitchen on Saturday which was good because that would probably be my worse room as quite a lot of it is church stuff.
I’ve moved onto the little living room and have cleared some of the big bookcase and most of the little one. I have a little cardboard box which is about 10cm wide and the size of an A4 piece of paper and it’s got all the VW’s that I have had out on display. I will have plenty of photos of boxes and piles of dust and the vaccuum in the doorway because later I will get bored and just take photos rather than pack.
I should be able to get out of packing for a little while on Thursday – in the process of asking my Bro and Mum if I can go see Indiana Jones with them.
I have to get back to work now or I will probably get shot! lol
I’m happy or comments i really am but when you rant about the colour scheme and not the content I know something is wrong.
I’ve had this design fo about a year and in the last two weeks ish I’ve had two comments telling me how much the colour scheme sucks and that a 6 year old could have done it. Now my cousin is 7 an I know that he wouldn’t be able to design websites that’s for sure.
Chris spend two or three afternoons designing and tweaking the design so it sat right with pictures and videos.
I would consider toning down the colours but then it wouldn’t be my blog – it would be someone elses. If you met me in person you’d see that I live in colour.
So I loved Maria and then Joseph and me and my Mum guessed on both of them who would win. Connie was clearly the winner when it came to Maria she just had this sparkle that the others didn’t have. With Joseph it was a little harder but Mum guessed it would be Lee (something along the lines that he looked more like a Joseph than the rest.)
Anyway so I’ve been watching I’d Do Anything and I really think that Jessie might win – Andrew L-W likes the idea of having an Irish Nancy (aparently alot of people in London would have been Irish at that point.)
I found this while reading KellyPuffs Blog. I’ve been in London for three days so feel a little detached from my blog.
Anyhoo so I have been very good in that I did lots of chores before coming on to my laptop this evening so I am blogging to my hearts content listening to Something Corporate – Punk Rock Princess on Youtube.
So the Meme… I found this on KellyPuffs Blog (After reading my responses – read her blog – she’s cool and she rocks!!!) She found this on Anna’s blog called Little Red Boat. (I haven’t got to her blog yet but I am sure she rocks all the same!!!) (A fellow reader (who goes by Fluffy Dragon) of Kelly’s blog also took inspiration – her responses can be found here)
You’re supposed to google “[your name] likes to” and share what you come up with. Hannah’s tend to be a little loopy (like me!) so lets see what we find.
Hannah likes to put hands in different things, like rice, pasta, play dough, etc. – Ok can agree with the playdough – I’m 22 but convinced that some days I’m like a 5 year old some days! I love pasta not so keen on rice though but I love rice pudding!
After school, Hannah likes to go home and play with her ducks. – I don’t go to school anymore – and I don’t have ducks! Although that would be kinda cool.
Hannah likes to fly – I would love to fly! Where can we go?
Hannah likes to keep up with the latest and greatest in children’s television programming. – hehe thing is I could happily watch In The Night Garden with the Abster and Essie all afternoon!!! (Or watch Ben Ten with Joel!)
Hannah likes to make this face a lot! (You have to take a look at the picture!!!) – Ok maybe I don’t pull that face but I know that when I concentrate I stick my tongue out a little bit like my G-ma S
Another change is that Hannah likes to roll over to her tummy now. – I sleep on my stomach! So if I ever have a baby of my own I am either going to not sleep for 5-6 months when I have a bump or I’m going to have to develop levitation so that I can still sleep on my front! lol.
(There are so many parents blogging about their little girls called Hannah!!! Where are the girlies who are my age! No offence Mums and Dads! (If blogs were around in 1986 would my Mum and Dad have blogged about me to the world?!?)
Okay that’s 6 although there are more under “Hannah Likes to”.
So today is mine and Chris’s First Wedding Anniversary.
I can’t believe that a year today I was watching Flubber because we were running ahead of schedule (I have an organised Mum who wrote a plan for the wedding day). If Kirsty had had her way she’d have gone shopping.
The weather looks more promising for today than it did a year ago. Last year it stay dry but cloudy until we sat down for the meal after the ceremony. It then tipped it down – there was however a Rainbow which came back to what Dave P had spoken about in the message bit of the ceremony (Chris didn’t want the whole stereotypical bible readings about Love etc).
It’s all go now. On Saturday Bex got married, on the 31st my Auntie is getting remarried and today me Chris Mum and Dad are off to look at flats (Taking them both because Dad will do practical and Mum will do arty ness stuff!)
Ok so technically it was Day 2 as the groups had been out the day before but to me it was Day 1. I didn’t really want to do gardening or painting to be honest, but when Chris pointed out that he hadn’t had enough time to take photos. I had found my niche for this weekend. S I was official photographer – I took about 100 photos over the two days (Sunday and Monday).
I’m going to post ones with bits that are unrecognisable as people so that I don’t get in trouble.
It was fun taking photos of different people because I tried to take them as they were working rather than getting them to pose (looks so much more natural that way).
((I’ll be back with photos Flickr is being slow!!!!!))
This girl rocks!!!! Her name is Julia Nunes and she plays the Ukelele (is that how it’s spelt???!?) I found her on YouTube a few weeks ago and had to subscribe!
On the way home I went via Mum’s house so that I could pick up the Property pages (me and Chris are looking to rent a flat – see the next post if I get that far.) We had a quick chat about the day and how much fun I’d had in Cambridge and then I headed home.At high speed I washed my hair as I was running out of time, I came and sat in the living room and tried to finish my track list in time for the sound check (Actually I didn’t get to finish it till about 30 minutes after my sound check – I decided that My Immortal was too depressive and it would be better to go happy-ish rather than down and and depressive). I decided that although it is a Worship song I would play Yesterday Today and Forever as I know I can play that one. Caroline was my Band Photographer for the evening and took various photos and a video. I was a little worried that it had gone horribly wrong and that everyone hated it. The audience were quite unresponsive again. I don’t know whether its just people didn’t want to react or that they didn’t like the music. I know there were a few peeps from our youth group who didn’t like the band who were the main act. Ben was one of the other acts and his Mum works with my Mum at one of her clients. She said I was good ad that she liked my voice (or words to the affect). I do have a video and will probably post it but Chris will get all paranoid on me about Copyright and stuff like that so I might have to leave it for now.
After the concert all I really wanted to flop in front of the TV and watch Doctor Who. As Chris has decided that they were going to watch it on the big screen I would go home and crash and come back in about half an hour. I came back to the church in my slippers and made some comment about that I was going to come back in with my dressing gown over my clothes. Well Owen and Jeccy egged me on and I went I get it (I also grabbed my bag of Jelly Babies to share round. Jelly Babies are a good aid when I’d comes to making friends.)
Doctor Who was awesome – seriously don’t want the series to end. Cat Tate isn’t the best “Who Girl” but she is bearable lol. I prefer Martha – i think she was carong but she had the brain power to do more (not that Rose was thick or anything)
so then it was bedtime, i said good night and came home. It’s niceti have the bed to myself once in a while it just give me breathing space.
I can’t believe that Bex is getting married tomorrow – It’s mad! Bex getting married this weekend Cat was due to be getting married the weekend after next and the following weekend it’s Clare and Ossie’s Wedding (My Auntie and her boyfriend).
I know am only up to Saturday night but I 1 need to sleep and 2 post this before it ends up ridiculously long.
So I haven’t blogged in a few days and I feel a little bad – I would love to blog more but WordPress is awkward on iPhone – if I could get my head round post by Email on here I would be posted like very time I got bored at work.I keep wondering about how I can get more readers whether to write about films or music or something like that. But for now I have my Bank Holiday Weekend to talk about till I am slightly blue. (Is it strange that I keep pressing space bar twice?!? If you press space bar twice on your iPhone it finishes the sentence and puts in a full stop for you.)So it started Friday Night when I got home from work. Chris was off organising the world to take on Hope on The Streets. I can’t actually remember what I did the rest of Friday evening – I think I may have gone to Mum’s but I’m having this like brain fog and can’t think. We’ll move on to Saturday – makes life easier. So Saturday morning I got up and got stuff sorted ready to leave my house and head for my Sister-In-Law’s house to pick her up – I was just about to leave when the mail arrived. I went through it quickly to see if there was anything interesting – there was a swap from Ozrob. I opened the package and put them into my rucksack to take them with me to Cambridge. The lady in the Disney Store was really impressed that we were using reusable bags rather than carrier bags. I was chuffed too – I always make the effort to take them with me but often forget to actually use them or take them out of the car. So by putting them in my bag before leaving the house meant I had them with me.Cambridge was good – the weather was lovely! While we were in Cambridge, we went to H + M I bought a new jumper and a shirt – while we were there Rachel picked out a jumper that I purchased for her – it’s for her birthday which is two weeks tomorrow. We were in Cambridge till about 3pm then got the bus back to the Park n Ride at Cowley Road. I took Rachel back to her parents house and I went to give Marion her rubber duck that we bought her earlier in the day at Evolution. (Her Bathroom has lots of rubber ducks and other ducks of various different persuasions.) She wasn’t feeling great so she was having a lie down but we don’t see each other very often so she was cool for me to go say hi.
Theres a lady in the office that I work in who always wheres high heels – they are kinda wedges.
She has a cream pair that are about 2 inches tall for around the office then to go home or out at lunch time she puts on a pair of black ones which are even taller (probably about 4 inches) after work she then practically power walks it to the station to catch her train home – I’m concerned that one day I’ll drive past on my way home and she’ll be collapsed in a heap having broken her ankle or something.
Why do people spam blogs and emails? What is the point?
You’ve Got Mail is one on my favourite films ever. It’s one of those that no matter how many times I watch it I have to watch it again.
I also love receiving mail – it’s just so exciting! Last week I ordered a white lab coat from eBay as part of a costume for a fancy dress party. My inspiration for my costumer is Abby from NCIS. However my lab coat is a kinda short but I think it should still work all the same.
Also in the mail today there was a mysteriously looking letter from Temecula in California. It was part of a Swap-Bot swap and it came from Sunrooms a.k.a Kelley.
Over the next few days (or more) I’m going to post the quotes from the journal – some are from TV shows and films. I know that Kewey is going to love this one.
Kewey loves seeing what I got in swaps. I think she would sign up herself if it wasn’t for the fact that it would take up those few spare moments she has in he day. So when she comes to visit, I collect all the cards and letters and bits together and then we have a replay of the last few months lol.
I love the flowers and the mix of black and white with the feature colours on the notebook. The closure is really simple but yet really cool. I really like the silhouette chandelier against the bright green on the postcard.
So this is in answer to Caryn’s post here.

Hello
So I was on my third home (after here and The Adventures of Kewey and Smithey) and wrote to one of my partners and realised that I had written her a stupidly long message about not alot.
Yesterday we had cell group and we’ve started Million Leaders Mandate so were talking about Leadership and our passions and I realised that I really don’t know what mine are. Mrs Mow Mow put me seriously on the spot and I had no idea how to answer.
What are my passions???
I mean I love hanging out with Lambkin and the Fabster but thats like a tiny bit of the stuff I do. I love craft stuff but I doubt I could do the craft bits as a job – yeh I know start and see what happens but I seem to have lost my inspiration – like God is pointing his finger and me going I am going to take this away from you so it stops distracting you. Well something like that anyway.
I’ve been trying to listen to more worship songs as I’ve been listening to Linkin Park and heavy stuff like that and it’s just got me really down and angry inside. I WANT HAPPY HANNAH BACK!!!!!! WHERE AM I?!?!??!?!?!??!??!
Those of you who know me I’m like a hyper bean – you make me laugh and i’m off – today I was skipping round the office and actually danced thorough the meeting room door when I missed the light switch (well not really danced I did a little pirouette in the door way before nearly falling over). I miss Uni.
I got a text from Kewey saying that she might not make it down to Bedford for my Birthday. AAAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! :p!
I’m trying not to get upset about it because that would be a waste of my energy and I am trying to find my happy inner self. (I sound like Abby off NCIS). I found my Hair: The Musical CD the other day so I put it on my iPod and realised how i just suck up song lyrics – i’ve not heard it in years and yet I still know the words!!
Right bed is calling and I need the loo before there is a puddle (talking about the loo and puddles – did anyone see CSI: New York this week – we need one of them toilets about half way across the car park – I always need the loo when i get to the car but I don’t need it when I am at work!!!!)
I think I got my first iPod about 5ish years ago it was a blue iPod Mini – it did what I needed it to do – held my music in one place and I could listen to it while sat in the common room at school.
I think it was 4gb – did what I needed it to do.
I then decided it would be really cool if I could put videos on it to so I bought a second hand iPod Video from a well known auction site. It was great the guy who I bought it off had left his music collection on there and I managed to get round it so I could keep what I liked of his music collection as well as having my collection on there as well.
Well a few people at the University of Glasgow have found that once Nanotechnology can be used we should be able to have 500,000GB on an iPod – even now my music collection reaches as most 5gb at a stretch. You can read the article here
I have been so unhealthy today, I ate Polo’s for most of the morning and then had a bag of Aero Bubbles this afternoon. I supposed one good thing about today was that the sun was shining so me and Alison went for a walk round the park and sat on a park bench and ate our sandwiches while talking about family and stuff like that.
I went home via Mum’s because I needed to take some bits back to her and collect the trousers that she mended for me. I got home about half 6 and started tidying up as the living room has got like a small bomb site. Then Chris appeared telling me that I needed to cook my own tea – which as usual filled me slightly with dread. Unless I’m making cakes standing in front of the oven isn’t exactly my idea of fun.
By the time I decided to get on with it, it was half 7 and I was due to be at Caroline’s for 8 for our DVD night. We watched “Raising Helen“. Now I’m sat lounging on the sofa watching NCIS while waiting for Chris to come back from the pub. Tuesday evenings is Elders and Deacons followed by a trip to the pub. I’m quite tempted to run over to the car for a can of coke rather than drinking squash. Except it’s 23:03 and coke would just keep me up for another few hours.
While I’m sat here waiting for Chris I was internet surfing and through SocialSpark found a site called Lisacooking.com the picture is the finished article of a recipe called Lasagna Rolls. Chris always whinges about my picking eating maybe I need to point this site out to him as there were a couple of nice looking recipes on it. Well Done Lisa!!!!!!
Here’s a run down of the last week or so. Last Saturday was Ruth’s party and I played guitar and bass. My fingers were very very sore and were peeling – thankfully now they are just sore and the ends have got quite tough. However I didn’t really have an excuse to complain Karen went into labour this evening and Baby Esther was born at 9:31pm on the 5th April (that makes her 9 days old today)
Then on Sunday I went to church and Myles was preaching which was cool – it was entitled Church 101 and was about where the church is moving to and how things are going to change. I got home and felt really rough – I wasn’t ill in the sense of a headache or anything like that I just felt weird. I chatted to Mum about it and she said it was probable that I was so stressed and worked up about the party and playing that I worked myself up and made myself poorly. So I chilled infront of the TV and watched the end of NCIS Season 3. (Ready to watch Season 4 if we have the right channels!!!)
On Monday I was back to work. I felt a little spaced out from being yucky the day before but I was bearing up. I got to work and had recieved an email from one of the customers I was helping last week saying thank you for my help. I was astounded at how polite he was. This week I was determined to get Lore‘s Birthday Package sorted for Swap-Bot so that hopefully it would be with her before the 18th which is her birthday. I can’t wait for my package to arrive from GeekyPoet – who also has her birthday on the 27th April.
On Wednesday I went to my first church Members Meeting – it was really kinda boring – it was the AGM so we had to talk finance and stuff like that. We did have an election for new Deacons which was cool – I get the feeling one of the nominations were very close just from some of the expressions on peoples faces around the room. The person I voted for (I think) has the power to get things done, the person is a little bit OTT and so scares me a little! lol.
By Thursday I couldn’t wait for the weekend to come around – I was really tired again mainly from the weekend before and because Chris seems to think it’s only him who needs to sleep so if he comes to bed ridiculously late it’s not his fault.
So now it’s Monday 14th April and I just finished lunch. Roll on another week!!!
I am seriously struggling at the moment, I do like my job but technically it’s only temperary for six months so as much as the fact I want to feel settled – in a way there is no point because I could be going in 5 months (I’ve been here nearly a month already).
I don’t know what I want to do next as such. I heard an article today on the radio that nearly 5 years per person are wasted because they are in the wrong job. I left University at the end of my degree last June and since I have bounced from one job to the next pretty much. I worked for an Electrical Wholesalers from April through to August. I was a cleaner at church and for my Mum through to November, I then worked for Star until the end of February and started here on the 10th-ish of March.
I guess I would be ok staying here but I don’t want to get “stuck” here as such.
I sit and try and think of what I would do – like if I knew what I know now what would I have done at the end of my GCSE’s and/or A Levels. When I finished my GCSE’s I wanted to do performing arts or become a Paramedic – I looked at which A Levels I needed and where I could go to Uni but because I didn’t move to the college I ended up doing Performing Arts. Now I am here 5 years down the line and don’t think I made the right choice. I need God to stick his giant Godly hand out of the clouds – point at me and say this is what you need to do!!!!! Except it doesn’t happen like that in real life – I just mumble along and see what I can do.
I looked at going back to study again but I still have no idea. Kewey and Chris suggested I started my own business doing crafty bits but there isn’t enough money in it. I know the job shouldn’t be for the money but I need to cover some of the bills. GRHA;JHWRLHWERLJH!!!!!!!!!! WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!?
The theme for March as part of NaBloPoMo‘s themed postings is that March is list. So I should be writing a list about something like the 10 most painful moments of the past weekend or My favourite 10 worship songs or something like that.
But the theme for April is much more exciting and further up my street. Letters. I guess this means that I could write the post as a letter to someone, or a specific person – like to a newspaper or something like that (Maybe a complaint that a certain magazine has so many adverts in it!). Another idea that they suggested was ….actually I don’t remember but I really liked the idea!
I purchased my iPhone and have taken lots of photos – I can’t post directly to WordPress (I can email my posts to Blogger which means I can post at work, on a train, in a traffic jam – you name it as long as I have mobile signal I can post).
So technically I could get off my butt go into town and purchase my very own iPhone – admittedly firstly I should go upstairs and run it past Chris.
Since the iPhone has been out I have been drooling – ok tried not to be obsessive over it but my iPod Touch is seriously easy to use it’s easier to use all round and with the notes program that you get in the January Upgrade I could use it to take notes in church (Don’t worry Pastor Mow Mow I do still listen!).
Anyhoo so it started this afternoon as I have been looking at digital cameras. Me and Chris used our wedding money to buy a DSLR back in May last year – this is cool for family events and graduation and things like that but for going to London on my own it’s a bit big to carry around under one arm. So I was looking at compact cameras then I thought about well I;’ll just have a look at the tech spec behind the iPhone and compare the cameras – after all I took a picture of My Mum in the O2 Store when we went to Milton Keynes back in January and it was very clear and a crisp image. I looked at the information about the telephone contract and all that bit and got a little confused so for the purposes of “research” I called O2 – as an existing customer of O2 through the Carphone Warehouse. Apparently because I entered my existing contract before September 2007 I don’t have to pay a termination fee for my existing contract. Basically I buy the handset from O2/CW/Apple, copy over my existing direct debit details and off I go. They will do things like transfering over my number – I just plug it into my computer and activate with Apple – or something like that – I just needed the important information. £270 up front for the handset and then £35 a month for the contract – which actually I would be getting more minutes and texts than I have at the moment plus the internet stuff and extra pieces.
Anyhoo so if I go upstairs and run it past Chris I will get the whole can you really afford it should you be spending that kind of money on a piece of technology. A plus point to it is that the software upgrades just like it would if it was an iPod – I plug it in and off it goes. Only thing is Chris sometimes scares me – do I want to go upstairs and try and run this past him?!?!?
So Friday lunchtime I wrote about how I didn’t know what I was going to do and I didn’t know what to do decide. Well that all changed about two hours later. About 2:45 I asked Hina if she had anything I could get on with – after all I still had 2 and a half hours to work. Hina said she didnt and that she would ask Celine if she had anything for me to do and she didn’t either so they decided that I could go home.
I went and chatted to the guys in design for about 10 minutes then came back and checked my email quickly and found an email from Steve who I had my interview with on Thursday. I was being offered the job!!!! SO I HAVE A JOB how awesome is that!!!!
I’m having this week off and hope to be posting lots of photos as I am going to Tate Modern on Tuesday – when I left university I set myself the challenge to go to London on my own so that I could say I had been on the tube and the train on my own. I did the Tube on my own when Chris did his tube challenge – which was slightly daunting but I was on the outskirts of London so it was kinda quiet but the trains were regular all the same – I can read a tube map and know that as long as I can get back to Kings Cross St Pancras it’s the easiest way to get home. If all else fails I can called my Dad or David and they will be able to calm me down if I get lost – David might even come and save me as he’s in Hatfield at uni which is about half an hour ish away I think.
So today is my last day working at Star 🙁 The end is nigh!!!! It’s a bit of a random one, somedays I feel down that I am leaving and then other days I am OK about it and that its not right but there is a right job out there I’ve just got to find it. I had an interview yesterday which all went well I think – if I am accepting I would be starting on the 10th – which is cool not a problem at all. However one of the recruitment agencies have called me and said we have this position lasting four weeks starting Monday – do you want it??? Well I have no idea – I could say yes to the recuitment agency then cancel on them if I can start at the interview place or say no and risk being turned down by the interview place. WHY IS IT SO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So when I got my new iPod I bought a new one of those gadgets that you plug into your iPod and it sends out a radio signal so that your car stereo can pick it up – My brothers friend on the other hand has a cable that plugs straight into his stereo from his iPod!
Anyhoo if I can get it to work the songs that follow are the ones that have been played the most this week.
So like most people I like my comments – after all the more the merrier but in the last few days I have had one rather offensive comment (this was a genuine comment – not a spam message). Then I received two both asking me where I got my hair dyed as my post back in December titled So it’s Now . EXCEPT none of the pictures are me, I point out to my readers that none of the pictures and again after each of the comments have pointed out it’s not me and I don’t know.
If I do go to a salon to have my hair dyed it’s usually Gina’s which I have been going to since I was little. If I do it myself it’s usually from Tesco or Sainsbury’s in Black or Red – I have one lot upstairs to do at some point which is Scharwkoff Live in Blackest Black or something like that and I will be having it done in the upstairs bathroom probably sat in the bath in my swimming costume so that I don’t dye every surface.
I went to church this morning and I thought I was ok till I sat down and my back started to hurt. I was ok after a while but then the pain came back afterwards.
I managed to potter round the house if I didn’t do much and I crouched down rather than bending over. Don’t ask me what I have done because I have no idea – my back hurts and that’s all I can say.
Well that was the only problem until an hour ago when I stubbed my toe on one of the chairs – I may have broken it – it feels quite cold even though my other toes are hot from where I bashed them.
But anyhow, this week has been a week of two trips to the cinema at the beginning of the week I went to see Juno then on Thursday with Chris we went to see Definitely, Maybe. (More info later).
So I haven’t been writing for ages I feel like I’ve been off the planet or something. Well I have kinda. Kewey texted me on Friday and said that she was coming to Bedford on Saturday if it was ok for her to stay with me.
That was AWESOME!!!!!!! Me and Mum had this plan about her coming to help tidy up so that Chris would be all chuffed when he got home from York (He was doing the visuals at a youth event at the Minster.) I woke up at 11am ish – not good as I was supposed to be at the gym at 10!!!! ISSUES!!!!!
Me and Mum had a chat Saturday morning on the phone about her coming to help and it would be cool that the living room was clear for when Kewey arrived so that she had somewhere to sleep without feeling like she was in a bomb site or something. So me and Mum tidied up – the living room and kitchen looked absolutely awesome it was sooooo tidy!!!! I then made lunch so I had scrambled eggs with beans on toast – it was great minus the semi glacial eggs as I didn’t guess the times very well.
About 6/7ish Kewey arrived here and I was pinging off the walls!!! It was like I had been on Skittles all afternoon!!!!!! We then went to my Mum’s via the supermarket so that we could get some flowers – Kewey wanted to say thank you to my Mum for helping with the tidying. Kewey is soooo cool she has such a generous soul – she really likes to make the effort to say thank you or to make people feel cared for – does that make sense?
We then went over to Buckden to meet Laura and Andrew and we went to the pub which was cool.
So today is Tuesday, I’ve had two really bad days at work. Kewey bought me a pair of socks with guitars on them and an organic t-shirt as a present to bring a smile to my face – which it really did it also got me all choked up that Kewey would do that for me. I was quite mean to her and Chris a little later and I felt so bad. I’d had a really bad day and something that Chris said was the straw that broke the camels back. I didn’t have a proper shout but I just wanted to go cry and ignore the world and just get it out. I got to the top of the stairs and Kewey had followed me up the stairs – she grabbed me and gave me a hug – it was like a shut up hug but it was what I needed.
I then went downstairs and I apologised to Chris and to Kewey. We then made tea all together which was really cool.
So today wasn’t as bad as yesterday but I still struggled – I really feel like I don’t belong there. They put an advert for a replacement in
the paper and the weekend and I found out myself by flicking through the paper and then having an apology after. I then spent all day answering the phone to people who were applying for the role.
Today wasn’t as bad – it sucked a little up until about lunchtime – I really did consider just leaving and not coming back – after all I’m kinda just feeling a gap at the moment. My line manager gave me this little project to do around answering the phone tomorrow so i’m really looking forward to it.
I got a text earlier from Mrs Mow Mow inviting me and Kewey to the cinema. It was sooo cool. We went to see Juno. It was really cool. I would sit and write more but I have like 5 minutes to finish this post and check the format before Chris asks for his laptop back. So lovelies, ta ta for now, see you soon.
1. What was your first swap?
A newbie swap! SMP295 was my partner and I got a 5 rating. That was back in August. This was cool because my partner shares birthdays with me.
2. What has been your favourite swap so far and why?
Recycle Something into a Purse – I loved making this. I had a pair of jeans and had lost some weight so I no longer fit them as they were falling down lol. So I came to the conclusion that I was going to make the jeans into a bag. I went onto Swap-Bot to see if there was a swap so that I could make it for someone – they were one of my favourite pairs of jeans and I wanted to hang onto them but I have so many bags that I didn’t need another. So I set about making the bag for the swap – there were quite a few pockets on the jeans so I tried to use all of them. There was also a tartan patch that my Mum had sewn into the bottom where I had worn the denim down and then managed to rip a hole in them. So the bag was posted to my partner in Canada and there was a definite history to her bag.
3. What has been your least favourite and why?
Back in October I was involved in a swap and my first partner gave me a 5 rating and the second partner kicked up a really horrible stink about how my ATC’s sucked and how they were really poor quality. Now I’ve only been making ATC’s since about August so of course some are better than others – I make some and think I’ve done a good job then I receive mine from my partners and get worried that I haven’t done so well.
4. What have you tried for the first time as part of a swap?
ATC’s were my new thing back in August, it’s a real shame that there isn’t like a definitive guide to how to make ATC’s. It took me scouring the Swap-Bot Forums and googling different phrases to find a way.
5. What would be your fantasy swap?
I don’t really know what my fantasy swap would be I like Ellie’s Idea at Little Wanda Crafts. The whole swapping lives and going to somewhere else! I would go to MA and meet my PenPal Kelly and her son.
When my iPod arrived I looked at jailbreaking it because I wanted the mail app amongst others that weren’t on it. I added a couple of games and was well chuffed.
I’ve now upgraded to 1.1.3, only to find out that the applications that were supposedly in the upgrade aren’t free. So I have the free version of 1.1.3 but to get Mail etc I need to pay £12.99. However if I was able to I could purchase the US upgrade for $19.99 dollars which according to google is £10 rather than £13 – now ok £3 isn’t a big deal but it’s the middle of the month most people aren’t paid for another 2 ish weeks.
If they make upgrades like this every few months is it going to have worked out better to buy an iPhone from eBay where i would have recieved the upgrades for free.
Anyone?
So I checked my other blog that I share with Kewey and she’d posted her desktop image. I love it – this is it.
Kewey loves monkeys!!! Any ones as long as they are cute lol
I was tagged by Ellie at LittleWanda Crafts who had been tagged by Pockets Full of Sorrow, formerly Happy Ichigo. I am going to tag June at Calendar Pages I met her through Swap-Bot and She rocks! When I got the email I was actually checking my email at work so here is my work desktop followed by my laptop desktop.
EDIT: I came back, I had tagged June earlier but I’ve come back to tag some more. So here goes: Karyn at Fat Orange Cat, Karrie at Girl on The Rocks and Dawn at Handmadelove
Here’s what you do according to Happy Ichigo:
“Upload your desktop pic, you girls are super artsy people, lemme see your desktop! This is how its work..pretty easy! It’s like doing a Print Screen; hit the PrtSc button on your keyboard, but instead of printing the screen, open Adobe Photoshop or Paint, then go to Edit and click Paste. Then save the file as .jpeg like you would any other image file. and whoa you’re done.”
Back in August, Chris and I signed up for an Unlimited card at our local cinema. The idea being that we’ll get out the house and do something together.
So in the past week I’ve been to see three films. As reported earlier this week I went to see P.S. I Love You – me and Steve discussed it at Connect Group on Wednesday he told me how it was sick ad how was she supposed to move on if she kept being tied to her feelings for her husband. Karen completely disagreed with Steve. I gave her the book to read now while she’s getting more pregnant by the day – I have the coolest birthday present – a new little friend to play with!!!! LOL my birthday is the end of April and Baby W is due at the beginning.
Anyhoo so me and Chris went to the cinema this evening, it started that he wanted to see Enchanted which I had been to see with Kerry just before Christmas. We went to see Dan In Real Life which has Steve Carell and Juliette Binoche starring in it. Personally I loved it Chris on the other hand overanalysed it and told me how much it sucked.
After grabbing some food round the corner at McDonald’s (I know so unhealthy!!) We decided to go back to the cinema and watch Enchanted. Sounded like a fair deal to me – my choice than his.
So I love signing up for Swap’s I come and tell you all about them.
Here is the second Swap that I am hosting.
I finished reading the book about a week ago and decided that watching the film was next on the list. Now if I have the patience with my iPod keyboard I’m good to blog from my mum’s living room while watching csi las vegas. Everyone say “hi mum!!!!”
I knew the film would be different but I didn’t quite catch on how different. I will ty to avoid spoilers but can’t guarantee anything.
The book is by Cecelia Ahern. It’s set in Dublin however the film writers moved it to New York. There is two little bits in Ireland but it’s not the same.
Admitted I did cry!!!
I love girlie films and love happy endings – it has a sad beginning but gradually it gets better. There are big chunks that are missing like the ball what happened there????
I have to go as my battery is dying I will be back with more later or 2moro
(I’ve come back to edit it now I can see it properly on my computer!)
So on Swap-Bot a few days ago I signed up for a Swap the idea is that you send your blog address to your partners – because it’s by email/PM you get like 5 partners – so plenty of blogs to read. (I had images for all of them but it was causing problems when it came to posting)
The addresses below are the blogs that I read as part of this swap – I also got some extra along the way – like return messages from people who were my partners. So here goes. If you click on the image it should take you the Blog – if it doesn’t give me a shout and I’ll get it sorted.
1. The first blog is titled Me at Large and is by Jess.
2.This is Purl Pen and Paint and is written by Nathalie in Belgium.
3. This is from Danielle’s Blog. She is the author of Simply * Me.
4. This came from Denise’s Blog. Her blog is called “My Joy is Quilting“.
5. Anna’s Blog
So I said there would be a photo yesterday but I was having trouble with the internet so I didn’t get round to here. But here we are are with it today. At the moment it’s brown but when I get chance I am going to dye it black again – especially as my two grey hairs are sticking out like a sore thumb again!
No I wasn’t sneezing! lol
Me and Chris went to PC World today to replace my speakers with the car on top that was my Christmas present from Chris – we plugged my iPod into it and it wasn’t happy it would only play a short burst of each song and then switch off. You were supposed to be able to put it on long play so that it just played the songs like normal speakers but it wouldn’t play along. We went into town first – it was very quiet so although we only went in a few shops as most of the them were closed it was nice just to go into town and not be knocked flying or walked into.
So then we walked to PC World via MacDonalds (Chris suggested it! How gobsmacked was I??!?!?). I sat in MacDonalds surfing the web on my iPod (they now have free wi-fi!) and this lad who was probably about 8 or 9 walked past our table and practically flew as he slipped over on the wet floor – the girl who works for Maccy D’s was mopping the floor and he just flew – there was no wet floor signs or anything, his feet went from underneath him and he landed on the floor on his back. He luckily got up and walked away but it was really sad because I thought he’d really hurt himself.
We got to PC World and sorted out the car we then looked around at the computers and stuff like that.
We then found these things called NaBazTag/Tag they looked really cool but were kinda on the expensive side. So when Chris asked me should we get one I was a bit reluctant, I pointed out that would he wake up tomorrow morning and really feel like it was a waste of money. He said I think I wouldn’t regret it so lets get one. It’s kinda half mine in replacement for the car – so in a way it wasn’t so expensive because it was half a christmas present. The picture isn’t our Nabaztag but it looks very similar. Ours is white rather than blue but we would like to change some bits of it like ears etc – Might get some ribbon or something to tie round it’s ears lol. The image came from Fabio’s Blog which can be found here.
While we were at PC World I bought a FM Transmitter so that I can play my iPod in the car. We plugged it in on the way back to PC World as Nabaztag Mark I had some problems and we had to take him back.
Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know Your friends. Okay , here’s what you’re supposed to do, And try not to be a SCROOGE !!! Just copy (not forward) This entire email and paste into a new e-mail that you can send. (or you blog like me!)
Change all the answers so that they apply to You. Then send this to a whole bunch of people you Know, INCLUDING the person that sent it to You ……T’is the Season to be NICE!
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Either really, I wrapped the presents in paper this year but I am with Ellie’s response about using Fabric bags and recycled paper. I have some paper to use up but I will try and use both to balance it out lol.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Since I was little my parents have had an artificial tree (which was bought Christmas 1985 when my Mum was pregnant with me) they still have the tree! Chris has a real tree last year as he was treated to it by my Grandparents as he didn’t have a tree of his own. This year we have a little artifical tree which is ok but Chris decorated it without me!
3. When do you put up the tree? That usually depends when we get chance. My Mum usually gets her diary out and writes out a couple of dates then has a look to see which date are we free on so that me, Mum Rich and Dad are all in the same place at the same time to do the tree. As may be known this year went pear shape. Chris put the tree up without me while I was at work. I decorated the church tree with Caroline which was cool but it was definately not the same as decorating our own tree for our first Christmas 2gether. Chris keeps whinging at me because I keep bringing it up. Hello! My family do the tree together Christmas is about family (after the celebration of the birth of Baby Jesus)
4. Vanished!
5. Do you like egg nog? Don’t think I have ever tried it but from the recipe that Hina at work read before we split for Christmas it sounded pretty gross.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? I don’t know, Is that bad? My favorite recieved in the last few years (so not really child as I’m now 21 lol) would be my Electric Guitar that my parents bought me I think maybe three Christmasses ago.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? I do! It came as part of my advent calendar that Jenny bought me. I was babysitting her daughter for the weekend that covered the 1st and 2nd of Dec and Jenny had bought me an advent caledar so that I didn’t feel left out. It’s like a cardboard make it yourself kit but it’s really cool – i just need the space to put it out.
8. Hardest person to buy for? Richard! My brother lives with my parents and so pays housekeeping which takes up a tiny bit of his wages and so each month buys computer games, CD’s and DVD’s so it gets to Christmas and I don’t know what to get him becuase anything I’ve thought “I could get that for Rich” he probably already has!!!!
9. Easiest person to buy for? Mum! Amazon Wish Lists rock my socks! lol. This year her present wasn’t from it though. Me and Chris bought her heated slippers to keep her feet warm.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Proper Cards are cool because its personal. It’s more environmentally friendly to send emails now or send recycled cards – Karen inspired me for something for next year.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? It’s not my worst but I swear everyone thinks me and Chris need fattening up or something we have 5 boxes in total of Chocolates and biscuits that we were given as Christmas presents. I try not to give food or sweets as presents because people have lots of food anyway. I do homemade biscuits or flapjack because it’s not as rich as shop bought.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Miracle on 34th Street, The Holiday or Love Actually. I don’t know if the second are technically Christmas films but I love them all the same.
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? September – when I had a job. This year was a bit more tight packed as I was unemployed till the middle of November, so my best friends presents were homemade with little bought touches when I could afford them.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Yes I have but it’s often because a relative might have thought I’d like it but it really wasn’t me and I’d rather it went to a loving home than gathered dust in my room.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? At my parents, My mum would get this tube of Fruit and Nut mix, I’d sit and pick out the raisins and Papaya as it was the only bits I liked. It always winded up my Dad as he’d get just the nuts.
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? I prefer clear so that they don’t clash with the decorations lol
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Home! I would like to travel one year just to see the difference but more than likely Home wins over, because it’s one of the few times that we all have the same time off.
19. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeers? Ready…….Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph. However Rudolph wasn’t actually one of Santa’s Reindeer. He was added after that song was released.
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Red metallic star on top of ours.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas Morning. At my parents they were done about 9am ish as we went to church the night before (like midnight mass but there was no communion). This year me and Chris opened one before the service, went to church then opened the rest over a period of about 3 hours as we had to do them in slots during the cooking of lunch.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Christmas decorations in October/November. Hello not even had Halloween yet.
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Purple and Silver
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Chicken joint with stuffing through the middle.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Well Christmas has passed now. What I would have liked was one day where me and Chris didn’t fall out over something petty. That happened because he made a mean comment and I stood in the kitchen and cried while trying to do the washing up.
26. Who is most likely to respond to this? Not really sure, everyone is probably busy.
27. Who is least likely to respond to this? Erm not sure.
The iPod didn’t arrive. I think I am waiting for a dispatched email to be told it is on the way. I ordered a book at the same time as the iPod and that has been dispatched so should be at my Mum-in-Law’s on Monday. I just would very much like it alot if my iPod arrives on Monday then I can charge and play with it till work on Wednesday am.
I think since about August I have been waiting for this film to come out. Having looked at the Cineworld website to see if it’s on. It turns out that it came out back in August!! How blonde am i! So at some point in the future I am going to rent it and hopefully it’s as good as I thought it might be back in August.
My other relevancy to 2 days is that I ordered my new iPod on the 27th and I am waiting for the postie to come and deliver it. I keep going and standing on the step outside our front door and look down the street to see if he’s (or she’s) coming. Our post normally arrives about 10:30 to 11 ish and weekends it has been around half past 2. It’s half past 2 in 17ish minutes and I am born of waiting. If it’s not coming today could the postwo/man just arrive so that I know it’s not coming (and then I can get slightly annoyed at Amazon as they quoted 1 – 2 days – lol!)
As most of my friends know I love reading! Can’t get enough of it! I love reading all sorts of books – obviosuly I have my favourites but I read anything. I found this website called LibraryThing. It’s where you can share the books you’ve read with the rest of the internet community. So here is my list as it stands and when it has moved on because we are in January to the right is a link to the page with the chart on it.

Ok so I have bigged her up in the past but now Kelli has confirmed this on Swap-Bot. (That links takes you to the front page this takes you to the Forum Post) I love the community at Swap-Bot – Little Wanda lives the other end of the country to me and yet I would say that she’s a good friend – we haven’t really known each other for a long time but she’s friendly and generous.
Sometimes people have to go on there and post about Questionable Swappers but I think it’s great to see people praising other swappers for the effort that they put in.
I’ve been living at No90 for 7 months now, this was fine in the summer as it would be warm outside and there would be a nice chill – it was like having a built in air conditioner as such. Now it just takes the mickey – ok I am still getting over my chest infection but I am wearing a vest top, tshirt hoodie scarf jeans socks slippers and a blanket on top I then have the fan heater on to try and warm the room and yet there is still a draught running across my fingers as I type this while watching DS9 (Yeah I know really sad – I’ve been working my way through Series 2). What makes it worse is that Chris keeps being really quite mean. This morning, Jane (one of the schools workers) phoned about various different bits and we were still sleeping. Last night I had had another rough one – I had a mad coughing fit so for an hour or so I just keep coughing. So sleep was kinda imperitive this morning – I was trying to get my body clock back to normal before going back to work on Monday but I needed the sleep because of how late I was up coughing (It takes twice as much energy as Chris is constantly telling me off for keeping him up and coughing in his ear!). Anyhoo so Jane calls and Chris tries to remember which of his youth group go to Wootton. He mentions a couple wjo aren’t there and so I tell him as he keeps shouting down the phone (I could hear Jane on the other end of the phone). He then gets this idea that I am awake and want to chat and so he starts having a conversation with me – HELLO! My eyes are closed – I even rolled over and stopped answering his questions so that I could go back to sleep. To add to it Chris then had a go at me telling me how I was obviously awake enough to correct him so I was awake enough to have a conversation with him. In true Chris stylee about 2 hours ago he came and asked me to get hold of a DVD he needed for the youth meeting this evening. Then an hour ago he disappears off to CU but doesn’t think to ask/tell me that he’s borrowing my car. (OK it’s technically ours – however both the insurance and ownership are in my name – so technically I could call it in as stolen – he took it with out permission from the driver lol).I feel so rough! I really doubt that this is healthy living in this house with the dodgy heating.
A while back I posted about getting a new hair cut, Now I really do need/want a hair cut.
I went all emo and tried to cut in a emo fringe – which works when I can be bothered to straighten my hair.Other than that it’s quite long – probably longer than I’ve had it in years. Been trying to find some hair cuts that I like – as soon as you google Emo Hair – it talks about cutting your own hair etcetc which I don’t mind because I’m up for anything when it comes to my hair – after all I can wear a woolie hat and grow it out if it goes wrong. Also about the cutting my own hair – it shouldn’t be that much of a big deal CJ cuts his own (or gets me or Mr W to cut it for him!)
I like the blonde bits in this one….
As much as cutting my own hair seems like a cool idea but I think my Mum would go nuts – ever since we were little my brother and me have been going to the same hairdressers. Do you reckon I can just use normal scissors or will I need to go to the hairdressing shop and buy some?
If I didn’t seriously risk getting told of at work I would have my hair done like this…
Then again I work in an office, in the middle of nowhere and the small amount of contact we do have with the outside world is quite small. Or something like this I have had pink hair before. It was like the bottom layer between my ears at the back – I liked it but when the pink began to wash out it started going ginger then blonde completely – The blonde was ok because it worked against the brown/black of the rest of my hair.
White blonde like this one would just look wierd on me because I’ve got olive complexion. (Apparently this is Jes Rickleff)
I bought this book from a well-known supermarket about a week or so ago. At the speed I read books, I don’t like to spend too much on books that I’ll finish in a couple of days. I started reading it because I had been looking for “The Jane Austen Book Club” which I thought would be somewhere in the chart as the film of the book has just been released in the cinema (except they aren’t showing it in Bedford – I would have to go to MK to see it).
Anyhoo so I bought this book and started reading it.
“Casting on . . .
It starts almost by accident: the women who buy their knitting needles and wool from Georgia’s store linger for advice, for a coffee, for a chat and before they know it, every Friday night is knitting night. Finding a pattern . . .
And as the needles clack, and the garments grow, the conversation moves on from patterns and yarn to life, love and everything. These women are of different ages, from different backgrounds and facing different problems, but they are drawn together by threads of affection that prove as durable as the sweaters they knit. The Friday Night Knitting Club – don’t you want”
My Mum taught me to knit and crochet. I hope that one day I can teach my kids to knit and crochet. This story as happy and sad moments. There are also some real moments of frustration. These made me want to drop the book and grab my needles to get some knitting done. (I’m currently finishing a crochet baby blanket so can’t really start another project). It might not be a Friday night knitting club but I would love to find a knitting group like the one in the book.
Today I received an email telling me that I had a comment on my blog – from Ellie (who I also received my first Christmas card from about a week or so ago! My second arrived today which was to me and Chris from Chris’s Auntie Kate – who is lovely – she’s the trendy auntie lol).
Anyhow so my Friday Five – Surviving the Christmas Season
1. It’s not really a surviving point but it does make sense. Something I hated at school was each year in English after Christmas you had to write a list of resolutions – like it was some big reading comprehension. I never made any resolutions – I never saw any point – What’s the point in trying to make a change that you’ll have dropped again by February.
2. Stock up on tissues and cold relief – a few years back I had really bad flu which reached its peak on Christmas Day. I got up in the morning opened my presents started watching my brother playing PlayStation next thing I knew it was lunchtime – I had slept all morning. I barely ate anything and then slept all afternoon – Christmas kinda sucked that year but I loved my presents all that more because I didn’t see them that much on Christmas day.
3. If you have that present that Great Aunt Mildred bought you thinking you might like it put it away on top of the wardrobe or somewhere like that – it can always be re-gifted. My Mum has a box that used to live on top of my wardrobe. The box would have little presents that my mum had picked up in sales or the odd present that she’d been given and didn’t like or really didn’t have a use for. She’s always grateful for her presents but often think they should go to a loving home rather than gathering dust in her possessions – if you get me.
4. And last but certainly not least remembering the real meaning of Christmas – You ask most children and they think that Christmas is about Santa (I feel another post coming on! Bare with!) Presents and lots of Turkey! But actually it’s not. 2007 ish years ago a Baby was born to a girlie called Mary and a Man called Joseph. He was to be the saviour of the world.
Chris my husband has been playing the Angel Gabriel in the Nativity this week (and my ex-dentist was a Wise Man which was even more worrying!). I went to see it on Wednesday with Mow Mow and Mrs C (and their little Boy) which was really cool.
And my Crazy point:
Since I was born (and possibly since my parents were married back in 1983 – yep 25 years next April! Rock On!) my family have always gone to Grandma and Grandad B’s on Boxing Day – without fail. Even two Christmas’s ago when Grandma was still in recovery from her stroke rather than going before lunch we went after so that she didn’t have to stress about cooking a roast dinner with the trimmings for 10 people (Yep! Me, Rich, Mum and Dad, Auntie and Uncle, Joey and Tubi, Grandma and Grandad).
Anyhoo this one particular year (I guess Tubi must have been still a sparkle or was very young) me Rich and Uncle Paul had been messing around all the way through Boxing Day tea (it’s a tradition to mess around because it’s one of the few days you can actually misbehave at least a little bit without being told to act your age rather than your shoe size!) So anyway we’re messing around and it gets to dessert – another family tradition is that we always have squirty Cream (for those who don’t know it’s a kinda of whipped cream that comes in like an aerosol can (of sorts) you push the button on the top and it squirts the cream out hence the name squirty cream) . This particular year it had got very silly and i think Richard aimed the squirty cream at my Uncle and caught his finger on the button causing the cream to squirt out the end and across the table – my Uncle dodged the flying cream and it hit the curtain behind him. My grandma was not impressed – she did see the funny side but was not happy about it (if that makes sense).
Erm ok I need to tag some peeps just bare with…….
Kewey at The Two Hannahs (My other blog! and my side kick)
Miss Zoot @ Misszoot.com
Ok so I got to three and now I am flunking out as I am going to craft club to make lots of cards and bits i think
Ok so it doesnt close for another 24 hours technically but from about 9pm tomorrow I am pretty much internet less for the weekend. I am babysitting my friends daughter for the whole weekend – She’s 9 so I guess it’s more childminding than Babysitting.
I enjoyed doing NaBloPoMo it’s easier to fit around work etc because you can sit down when you get it from work – type about your day and that can be your post if that is all you have to write about whereas NaNoWriMo takes so much more dedication – 50,000 words is not easy – I think if I actually had word counted my dissertation I might have been close to 15,000 (it was a research folder and so it was hard to determine what was research and what counted as your word count)
I think I am going NaBloPoMo again next year although I have a year to decide – well maybe 11 months. Can I plan my story rather than write it then start typing as fast as I can on the 1st November – someone clever worked out that you would have to write 1667 words each day to be able to reach 50,000 on the last day.
So yesterday at work we had the ops meeting – this is where lots of different people across the company get together and organise bits like transport, hotels and crew amongst other things – it was only my second time at this meeting and I had to do the update – this is a spreadsheet that we put all the information in and then send it round everyone at the meeting so that they know whaat they need to do before each of the different jobs go out. Sounds simply believe me it’s not! I started as soon as I got in. I took a break to wrap a present as one of the guys in our office is leaving at the end of this week tomorrow and my hour for lunch. I also did a couple of other small jobs other than that I worked on it from 9 to 4 it really shouldn’t have taken that long and I know one of the other girls in the office turned round and said “Don’t ask HER she’s taking too long”. Hello it was my first time doing the update of course it’s going to take me longer than you – you’ve been doing it longer! Anyway it really upset me then when I showed the next attempt to the office manager her response made me cry – now she’s not a mean person, but I’ve been a bit off the last few days and been feeling under the weather – yesterday morning I stood in the HR Manager’s office and nearly fainted – I kept feeling like I was going to pass out or something – I hadn’t exactly slept well the night before and so I don’t know if that had anything to do with it but Mum has been poorly this last week so maybe i’ve come out in sympathy.
P.S. last night I wrote nearly 1000 words in just over an hour for my NaNoWriMo story!!!!!! About two weeks ago I totally lost inspiration and started another story – i then restarted a third story but have been able to use some of the second story in it which is cool. I am currently on about 4000 words and thats without the stuff I wrote while babysitting this evening.
So I don’t really like reality TV some bits are funny other bits aren’t. I’m a celebrity just grosses me out – why should people be forced to complete tasks to get food – sounds like something out of Saw! lol.
I am more into music reality TV so I prefer things like Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with The Stars (I watch it on YouTube – thanks to the many lovely americans who post clips – you can watch it on UKTV Gold but we don’t get it). I watch Strictly Come Dancing on BBC 1 rather than the X Factor. I sometimes watch the clips posted on YouTube as then you don’t have to watch all the waffle in the middle. Rhydian is good but he’s a bit odd if you get me.
Same Difference are a Brother and Sister group – I would say they are ok but they sang Breaking Free from High School Musical a few weeks ago and tbh it wasnt the best choice – after all it’s a love song lol.
On Saturday they sang this one which is actually really good. Not sure who I would like to win though. I thought that Mel B or Marie Osmond would have won DWTS but it wasnt to be Helio won!
Today is Tuesday that day between Monday and Wednesday in case anyone forgot.
I have writers block and so am trying to think of something to write.
So here goes
Five useless facts about Tuesday.
1. Tuesday started off as Twisday in Middle English.
2. It was named after the Norse god Tyr. He was god of combat.
3. In Romance languages (they come from roman background) like French (Mardi), Italian (Martedi) and Spanish (Martes) all have the similarity of being called “Mars day” or Martis dies in Latin.
4. I can’t work out the history of Dienstag (German) but fact 4 is that Dienstag is German for Tuesday and Dinstag is Dutch.
5. Christmas this year falls on a Tuesday!
I was working on ten but seemed to have hit a floor!
I found this on Pikaboo’s Blog just below a picture of her gorgeous baby boy.
1. If you could have the last hour prior to reading this tag again, what would you do differently?
Not alot actually I spent it hanging out with my parents which was cool. We watched University Challenge and Mastermind so I kept answering the questions even if I knew I was totally wrong.
2. You can go back in time for exactly one hour, where and at what time in history would you go?
The first day of Freshers week – The first hour of university from the moment I got on the bus – I would park myself next to Kewey so that we got to know each other sooner.
3. You have one hour to make a handmade item, what would you make?
I would make a handbag I reckon – thats presuming I have the stuff I need to hand lol.
4. If you could lose one bad habit, what would it be? Cracking my knuckles – the joints in my fingers have recently started sessing up and clicking. I have to click them to release them.
5. In less than sixty words, describe your perfect Saturday night.
Either to have the evening to myself with Chris, which currently seems to be a miracle if we are remotely in the same building or would be out with my friends from church (Ummma, Karen and Caroline) possibly going to see a chick flick or going for a meal. (49 words!)
6. List sixty things you could do with that extra hour.
Seriously we’d be here all day!
My cousin David who is about 4ish weeks younger than me is at the University of Hertfordshire doing a course in 3D Animation. And you see I already knew he did lots of work at university – in the past he has been known to come home at Christmas in his slippers because he didn’t have the energy to change into his shoes – I feel sorry for his girlfriend sometimes! (She is lovely – she wants to be a teacher one day and might be coming to study in Bedford – I doubt they will but if they did split I hope that we will still be friends because she’s really cool – We chat about Shakespeare and I don’t feel like a geek because she gets as excited as I do!) Anyhoo here is one of his videos.
So me and Kewey wanted some way to keep in touch between us that could be a conversation as sorts, didn’t cost lots of money as we would chat for Britian and that would give us arthiritus from writing too much. So we came up with Our Blog. I will possibly put a link but I need to check with Kewey first.
Yesterday I was having a bit of a pants day and this was the post I wrote to Kewey. (p.s. Today I am much more happier – I think I was tired and not handling little things so well)
I MISS YOU!!!!
I almost need you here to tell me that I don’t suck and put the smile back on my face. I want the uni days back, when I had no job I couldn’t handle it because the four walls were driving me nuts and now I have a job and it’s draining every spare moment of time out of my life – ok not quite every spare moment as I leave at 5 and I’m home by 6 so I still have my evenings but this last week I have got home and Chris has then been in meetings or been essay writing. Thursday I went to Mum’s after work – she’s been feeling really tired and on Thursday had gone down with a cough thing (she’s only got to breathe slightly too heavy and it makes her cough up her lungs at this rate there will be no lungs left in the woman!) Anyhoo so I go on Thursday to see her end up staying for tea so that she didn’t have to cook etc (the only cooking that it took was phoning the Chinese for a takeaway).
Chris then had Rock Solid on Friday so I spent that on my own in No90 as it was my evening off (I do every other week). Chris then packed the car and dashed off to the Youth Sleepover thing at St Johns (Can’t really complain I had the bed to myself!!!! WAHHOOOOO more room lol but actually it was really cold – the heating in our room sucks and the fan heater blows! It’s so noisy you have turn it off to sleep and so the temperature drops shortly after – No good for insominacs they’d have icebergs hanging from their noses!).
This morning there was banging and crashing around in the house and I woke up (Chris has gone to get me a tissue because my nose is running and I have been crying and there’s a really cold draught running across my fingers!) thought aah thats ok probably just someone here to use the photocopier etc something like that. Then there was footsteps heading for the door – so I’m like who on earth is that – start panicing as I am the only person in the house other than this person outside the door (like how am i going to defend myself?!?! Throw Chris’s cheesey socks at them and hope it gases them????). The door swings open – It was Chris!!!!!! Says about how he brought the car back and I could have it but I needed to take him back to St Johns and it needed to be before 10am (Baring in mind I have just woken up at 9:25am, got the fright of my life thinking I may be attacked by and intruder and Chris wants me to be dressed and ready to drive him in less than half an hour!!!!!!)
So I get up and get dressed – I look in the mirror and I look as white as a sheet. (If I make no sense it is because Chris is chatting at me and I am trying to be a woman and multi-task!)
I rush round and get my bits sorted for the day and I was expecting to kind of daudle around and get myself sorted before lunch not before 10am! So I get sorted and take Chris to St Johns. I head for the car park that is over Iceland and near the bus station. I decide not to park there and head for Lurke Street car park (near Lidl) as it’s about 20p cheaper – and I would like to save all I can until pay day.
So I park there and do some quick bits in town – after that I head for Mum and Dad’s I had an angel costume to make (and it wasn’t for me!). It was easier said than done – with all the dashing around I hadn’t got to measure Chris and so had to draw round Richard (he’d been at work and stunk to heaven!) so I draw Rich who as a joke pretends to kick me – except actually really does kick me (He was laying on the floor and I was lent over his legs drawing round him to get the rough size for the angel – theoretically Rich is bulkier than Chris and so if it fitted Rich it should fit Chris – easily!)
So I hung out at Mum and Dads – that was the good bit of my evening – me and Mum had had a Bones fest and watched most of season 2 (i think!) with bits of Casualty, Strictly Come Dancing and Robin Hood in the middle. At the end of the Dancing they are getting more and more sillier about how their introduce what is next – last week Len (the judge) got hit with a prank arrow (you know the ones with the bend in to put round your head). This week they played the flying arrow noise six times and “killed” off the male dancers! lol There was a close shot on Bruce and Tess while they played the noises then the camera shot went to a wider one and the guys were all laying on the floor. Me and mum had to rewind it on the Sky plus because we missed what had happened the first time round!!!!
So then it got to 10 to 10 (Chris keeps looking over to see what I am typing about and now had rolled over in a slight strop). Chris had asked me to pick him up between 9 and 10 but hadn’t told me exactly so I sent him two text messages to find out what time he wanted me to get him – this is where the ‘Enders stylee drums come in because although I would like to finish posting Chris is about to doze off so I will write more possibly/hopefully tomorrow – Do you still want to come Christmas shopping? If yes let me know and I will tidy the living room so you have somewhere to sleep!!!!!!!! I can’t do next weekend but I am free the following if you want to go then – any closer to Christmas and it’s just gonna be mad. Smithey over and out!
Well it’s not quite it’s still Sunday evening but it may as well be the week again – I swear I have no life now lol. I work 9 to 5 Monday to Friday (Is there a cue for a song there???) and then do youth work every other friday and every Sunday evening. Which works out that my time is 5 til bed during the week and then about 10pm through to 6pm on Sunday obviously minus the sleep. Not sure I will be getting much sleep next weekend though I think my friend’s girl might be to excited to have me staying over. How do you entertain a 9 year old? I tried to thing what Tubi (my cousin) was like back then 4 years ago I was 18ish I’d nearly completed my first term at uni and was looking forward to crashing in a heap over the holiday to recover from my assessments. Tubi was 9 and would have just started at Middle School I think (I think my friend little girl has an early birthday whereas me and Victoria are born after Christmas – she is January and I’m April). Well I have to go my laptop is about to keel over on me and I really want to finish this post. So ttfn my lovelie have great week I have to be up for work ttfn
So below is a long blog post – it’s the first 300 words ish of my story for NaNoWriMo – I decided that I would post it on here so it saw the light of day in some form. There are websites now where you can upload files and they will print and bind them – if you want to read the rest of my story when I finish it (if i finish it lol) drop me a message and I’ll see what I can do. Maybe I could post installments!
Hi I’m Lottie, indie emo chick I would say. I live in Bedford not exactly the centre of the universe but I think it’s somewhere near.
I am writing this diary to somehow explain my existence I guess. Not in the sense of Creation versus Evolution (Note: Yeah I’m emo, but I’m a Christian I don’t do the whole cutting thing for one it makes a mess and two you get scars). So the whole diary thing started again to prove existence and second I have a wild imagination and need to get my ideas down before they escaped my grasp.
Here’s a bit about me, up to six months ago I lived with my parents and sister. I moved out when my sister went to uni and Mum and Dad split up. Something about Dad no longer loving Mum and he’d been with her for the last few years pretending he could survive with her till I got to uni. Obviously didn’t look as I left school went to uni but lived at home. He was hoping that I’d move away and he’d somehow vanish. I guess you are probably going “but what about your sister?” and “what is her name?”
Well she’s called Emily, yes I know my Mum had a thing about the books by the Brontes so I was Charlotte (well Lottie) and she got Emily. Mum went to uni and did English Literature. She met Dad in the Student Union Bar. If it was possible it was love at first sight. You know the cheesey “their eyes met across a crowded room” scenario. It was the late seventies early eighties when they met. It would have been 25 years next year if they’d stayed together. I guess something good is that they are just separated and not divorced at the moment so they might get back together one day I guess.

I love Youtube but do they do know that there is a loop in their system when it comes to embedded videos that are disabled?
Ok so I get the feeling I may have already posted this or I just emailed it round my friends but I wanted to share.
Today was sooooo cool. So yesterday Linus and Jo arrived from Shanghai which was cool. It was decided that us girlies in the office would go out with Jo and show her how we do Christmas. Originally we were going to go to see Bedford Christmas Lights be switched on but we decided town would be too packed and it would be kinda rubbish. Then it changed to going to MK and wandering round the shops, we then found that the shops in the centre don’t open for Christmas shopping on a Wednesday. So then it changed to going to Xscape and wandering round there grabbing some food and maybe going Bowling or something.
So after work I dropped Jo back at her hotel. We’d chatted on the way back into Bedford about what it’s like to live in Shanghai and how busy it is. I found out that she’s an only child and she ended up living in Shanghai as she went to university there. Some of her friends came over to England to study at Uni rather than staying in China. I then came home, washed my hair at high speed (I swear it gets greasier quicker now) and got changed out of my work uniform. I then picked up Abby and Jo and we headed for MK. Me and Abby chatted for Britain on the way – which is good as we don’t really get much time to chat at work and we dont get like lunch break at the same time so it’s not like we can get to know each other then, I felt kinda bad that we didn’t include Jo more but when we tried it was a little bit of a struggle. We went and waiting in the middle of Xscape for the other girls to arrive. Theres currently a board about the Re-Generation project that is happening in MK, this was good as there was a map and we could show Jo where we would have gone if we had gone shopping. We chatted about our families and what we enjoyed doing. We met the other girlies at Xscape and went for a drink in the City Limits bar upstairs near the cinema. This was great fun as we got to know each other better – me and Abby only started last week so it was a bit like a trial run before the Christmas party in December which was cool.
Tea was lovely – we went to Frankie and Benny’s which I love! lol. I had a Bacon Cheese Burger which was very nice but sooooo filling – I really fancied a pudding but I was really worried I wouldn’t concentrate on driving as I felt so stuffed. We were going to go Bowling after dinner but Jo decided she would like to head back to Bedford – I think the jet lag has her up at peculiar times. China is I think about 9ish hours in front of something like that – so it’s 10pm here and it feels like 4am or something like that – so a bit like when you go to America but the other way and because it’s just a short trip by the time she has got used to the time difference it’s time to go home and she’ll be on a different time zone again. It would be nice to stay in touch, I think!
The company I work for also has an office in Italy – maybe I need to see if I can do some kind of exchange to see how their office works lol. I can just about get by in Italian – I can borrow my dicitionary back off Tubi if needs be lol. I think she would understand lol.
So today I probably could have started the costume if I had a body to draw round and a sheet to draw on! Chris has gone to the Elders and Deacons Meeting, while I see next door and watch random bits of Grey’s Anatomy on YouTube. I am sure it’s not supposed to be on there but there you go.
I know what roughly happens up until Episode 8 – apparently Episode 9 is on Thursday at 9/8c what ever that means when it is at home.
I should really write some more of my story for NaNoWriMo – it’s the 20th which gives me 10 days to write about 48,000 words – that is 4800 a day!!!! If I was to write for 24 hours straight – so for the whole day it would be 200 an hour which I could possibly just about manage except I wouldn’t be able to manage the 24 hours straight. So I start work at 9 finish at 5 it takes me about 30-45 minutes to get home depending on traffic. If I start writing at 6 that gives me 5 or 6 hours to write which means I need to write 800 words an hour.
I am still struggling with my story and think I may write it all as one person rather than the two different voices I was going for. The other option is to carry on changing my uni script into a story rather than a script. AAH well any suggestions are welcomed.
I think I may have already posted under that title before but there you go.
It’s Monday – again lol. Well at least first Monday at my new job so I think thats something to celebrate isn’t it?! I have lasted three days so far which is good!
I had to chase hotels this morning – why is it soooo difficult to send an invoice either by email or fax – preferably email because then there is only one copy – the one that goes to accounts as proof rather than the one that was put in the fax machine and the one that appeared my end.
Anyway – how do you remain chilled when you want to shout at them?
Chris has asked me nicely if I will make him an angel costume. He was collared into playing the Angel Gabriel – I am thinking whole hog – Tinsel on his head for a halo and some description of wings. I just need to get hold of a sheet and get on with it.
So at high speed I am writing this post, I gave up singing in the worship band today to help with the sound desk as Chris is away. OK I barely know anything about a sound desk – I’m usually on stage saying “I would like this in my left ear and that in my right and can you stand on one leg while you do that please.” It doesn’t always go like that lol. Any way so I get there at half past 9 set up the desk (It takes me 15 minutes to work it all out – hey the last time I went near a sound desk I nearly broke it because I turned on the wrong switch 🙁 the time before that I was still at school doing Music Technology). So I’ve sorted the desk and I’m ready for the practice – Sam arrives (he was meant to be doing the desk but had arrived late – so at least by setting it up he was ready to go). The worship band decide – well Ruby isn’t playing drums today lets move the kit – so there’s a new sound technician who is following instructions from a sheet of paper, and the worship band decide to furniture move rather than run through the songs. OK!!!
Anyway I decided rather than getting annoyed about it I would come back home (I live next door to the church) chill out until about 2 minutes to the beginning of the service and I would park myself in the back corner – after all the girlies who I would normally sit with have gone away this weekend with out me (Their spouses have gone to a Men’s conference and mine has gone to a youth work conference).
I started my new job this week which I really enjoy – the office is 6 girlies and we have a great laugh. But I feel like I have lost my friends by getting a job. I am going to go I think I might cry.
So normally I wouldn’t post about my mail, it’s usually some letter from the bank or the blood service telling me I am really rare and that they “want to suck my blood!” (Chris says like every time he goes to donate that he’s going to see the Vampires – I think he even puts it in his diary as that) lol.
Anyhoo one of my letters today was about A4 size and I took a photo of it because I knew I’d probably reck the paper. The second of these was a letter from Kelly in Minnesota – we met through a Penpal swap and that was it friends since – it takes a bit of time between letters as I live in the UK and she’s in the states but it’s so much fun to hear from her. She writes like we are best friends and like we’ve known each other for ever!!!
So here we have my two items of post – following this there will hopefully be a google map box which shows the hybrid image of part of the wrapping paper.
I found this on Kassrose’s blog. So apparently if you have seen over 85 films you have no life – so I can tell you I probably most definately have no life but I decided I would do this anyway. There are 239 films on this list. Copy this list, go to your blog, facebook or myspace and paste this. Then, put x’s next to the films you’ve seen, add them up, change the header adding your number, and click post at the bottom. Have fun.

See I am seriously a geek – I think I might get The Murf to do the quiz that will really show who is the King of the Films! Lol
So I was tagged by Ellie who writes at Little Wanda Crafts. She is lovely and oftens comments on my blog so I feel kinda obliged to continue this (and excited lol!)
The Rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names and link to them.
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blog.
1. My name is Hannah Louise, My grandfather’s auntie was called Louisa – there isn’t a Hannah on either side of my family but there is an Anna about 4 or 5 generations back (except I can’t be named after her because we didn’t know about her until my Grandad did our family tree a few years ago)
2. I have just graduated from univeristy with a 2.1 so if I really felt the need i could put a BA after my name but I won’t unless I am trying to show off. While at Uni I met my best friend – She’s called Hannah as well but we know her as Kewey so it doesn’t get confusing in conversation – she was born exactly 19 months to the day younger than me – I was born on the 27th April 1986 and she was born on the 27th September 1984.
3. I have one foot slightly bigger than the other and one leg longer than the other is that wierd???? lol
4. I can’t stand yoghurt with bits it – I don’t know why I just don’t like the bits – actually I don’t like smoothies with bits in so I have the kids ones because they have little or no lumps in.
5. It’s so cold in our house that I have put on my gloves to keep my fingers warm – yet I am wearing an elbow length top – wouldn’t it make sense for a jumper lol
6. I love singing so I know most of the words to a lot of songs – you ask me to learn lines and I can’t do it you get me to learn a song and I pick it up almost straight away!
7. I am loving this CD that I recieved in the mail this morning from GirlonaGlide
I tag:
Merys at I Am Not A Drain On Society,
Kelly at Kellypuffs – Not just for Breakfast Anymore,
Coco at Paper Kitty, ok so i just checked her blog and she has already been tagged but I’m not going to remove the link so peeps can still go read it anyway.
June at Calender Pages,
Kim at Miss Zoot,
Kewey at The Two Hannahs,
and Catherine at Alchamillamolly
Ok so I pranced around the living room to this when they performed on Children in Need, but I had an excuse – I have a free house and I was am a massive fan!!!! I doubt there is actually any chance but apparently my friend Jane will love me forever if I can get her tickets to the upcoming come back tour!! lol Maybe I need to see if I can go out on the rigging if we get the job – you know see the other side of the business lol.
I was a little disappointed by the Newsreaders though the last few years it’s been the thing that we’ve looked forward to. I think Fiona did an amazing job to sing All That Jazz – because it is a hard song – I know that as I sang it in my singing lessons.
1. Little Wanda’s Post I love her blog!!! It rocks my socks!!!!! I love the ladybug!!!!
2.Merys The Medical Student So it was the content of this message – I don’t feel such a loner for sitting in watching Children in Need on the telly box.
3.Kellypuffs – Not Just for Breakfast If Shrek had a laptop I think it would look like this!!!!!
4. Paper Kitty’s Blog These little books are sooooo cute!!!!!!
5. Paper Seed’s Blog Another little cute book!!!
I feel like I should have taken a photo of me on my first day at my new job. But I didn’t – It didnt cross my mind to do it until now and I’m kinda in the same clothes but changed my jumper – so I can’t now!!
I had a phone call at 4pm ish and was told that my car was finished and that I could pick it up – there will be a photo tomorrow of it’s new nose once I’ve taken it to the car wash on my way home from work. It’s funny the bonnet is lovely and clean where they have put the new coat of paint onto it, the wings are absolutely filthy as the car hasnt been probably washed since the accident. Apparently according to Chris I shouldn’t wash the car tomorrow as the paint might be too new or something – he’s shouting at me from the other room rather than getting off his backside and coming to talk to me about the car and what I should be doing.
As I tried to round things up before I start work tomorrow, I got a text message from Laura she has also been offered a job and she starts not next week but the week after I think. Bex and Ruby came round and we watched What A Girl Wants and The Lakehouse. I love both these films but The Lakehouse takes a lot of thinking about.
My cousin Kirsty was due to be in Malawi for 3 months I think. She was there from the beginning of September but had to come home early because she was seriously poorly. I set her a challenge yesterday, similar to the Bear Necessities. The idea was that we would both take interesting photos of what we did today. Here are mine. They weren’t really interesting but it was what I did.
So after my accident back in August it was about time that the car got fixed – so today I got up at 9am and took the car to the garage with some assistance (and taxi driving) from Grandad. My Grandma came with us as we went to the Greengrocers on the way to get their shopping. It was very funny because Grandma kept telling Grandad off but he’d just take the mickey out of her back. Me and Chris really struggle with that because sometimes Chris can actually be really person and really hurt my feelings.
Anyway we were in the car on the way back and it got even more sillier!!! Thats for sure! They chatted about where my Grandad used to live (the garage is about 3 minutes down the road from where my Great-Grandma and Great-Grandad used to live. Great-Grandma died when I was in Year 10 – I would have be about 14 and Great-Grandad now lives in a Old Folkies Home) and then my Grandma was going to show me where she used to live and then she completely missed it – she was too busy talking about how Grandad used to cycle through the village to her house to pick her up to go “courting”. It was very very very sweet.
Hello so my reason for manic dancing was that I was offered a job on Friday and so proceeded to dance round my Mum’s living room, landing then our living room when I got home.
I had my interview on Wednesday and was offered a job on Friday how cool is that. So now I am counting down the days to get to a job lol. Well thats if the car is fixed in time, in the morning I need to take the car to the garage, to get the bonnet sorted – yes my car is having Rhinoplasty tomorrow – to the rest of us it’s a nose job lol
Hannah posted her photos today of Graduation night out and the day after. We went to the Embankment in Bedford and she took this picture while I was eating my crisps – I don’t actually remember her taking it! lol. Ihonestly wasn’t being grumpy – I was eating lol and probably concentrating on whatever Laura or Serena was saying at the time.
Karen had Drastic Fantastic playing at her birthday bash last night and in tribute to the fab party and the amazing birthday cake we have this video. (and because Computer course is boring me!!!!)
